The Girls' Singles tournament of the 2014 Asian Junior Badminton Championships was held from February 19–23 in Taipei, Taiwan. [1] The defending champions of the last edition was Aya Ohori from Japan. [2] Ohori competed in this event as the first seeds, but she was beaten by the eventual silver medalist Chen Yufei from China in the third round. [3] Akane Yamaguchi of Japan claim the title after beat Chen in the final with the score 21–10, 21–15. [4] The second and fifth seeded Busanan Ongbumrungpan of Thailand and Liang Xiaoyu of Singapore finished in the semi-finals round, settle for the bronze medal. [3]
The 2014 Badminton Asia Junior Championships is an Asia continental junior championships to crown the best U-19 badminton players across Asia. It was held in Taipei, Chinese Taipei from February 16 to February 23, 2014. This is the second time for this event has been held in Taipei after being hosted by the city in 2001. This year, over 250 top badminton players from more than 20 different countries participated in the competition.
Taipei, officially known as Taipei City, is the capital and a special municipality of Taiwan. Sitting at the northern tip of the island, Taipei City is an enclave of the municipality of New Taipei City that sits about 25 km (16 mi) southwest of the northern port city Keelung. Most of the city is located in the Taipei Basin, an ancient lakebed. The basin is bounded by the relatively narrow valleys of the Keelung and Xindian rivers, which join to form the Tamsui River along the city's western border.

Sung Ji-hyun (성지현) born 29 July 1991 is a South Korean badminton player from Seoul. She competed at the 2010 and 2014 Asian Games, also at the 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics.
Akane Yamaguchi is a Japanese badminton player who is a singles specialist. She is also part of Kumamoto Saishunkan Badminton team. Yamaguchi occupied the No. 1 BWF women's singles ranking in 19 April 2018, becoming the first Japanese player to achieve it.

Ohori emerged as the champion after defeat Ongbumrungpan of Thailand in the finals with the score 21–11, 16–21, 21–13. It was the first time ever for Japan to win the gold medal in the girls' singles event.

South Korean pair Lee So-hee and Shin Seung-chan were the gold medalist in the last edition. The top two seeded Lam Narissapat / Puttita Supajirakul of Thailand and Chae Yoo-jung / Kim Ji-won of South Korea finished in the semifinals round, and settle for the bronze medal. The gold medal went to Chinese pair Huang Dongping and Jia Yifan after an all-Chinese final versus their teammates Chen Qingchen and He Jiaxin that they won by 21–19, 21–16.

The 2016 Indonesian Masters Grand Prix Gold was the 13th grand prix's badminton tournament of the 2016 BWF Grand Prix Gold and Grand Prix. The tournament was held at the Balikpapan Sport & Convention Center in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, Indonesia on 6 to 11 September 2016 and had a total purse of $120,000.
The 2017 Thailand Masters Grand Prix Gold was the third Grand Prix's badminton tournament of the 2017 BWF Grand Prix Gold and Grand Prix. The tournament was held at the Nimibutr Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand on February 7–12, 2017 and had a total purse of $120,000.
The Girls' Doubles tournament of the 2015 Badminton Asia Junior Championships was held from July 1–5. The defending champions of the last edition were the Chinese pair Chen Qingchen and Jia Yifan. Indonesian pairs Apriani Rahayu / Jauza Fadhila Sugiarto and Marsheilla Gischa Islami / Rahmadhani Hastiyanti Putri leads the seeding this year. Du Yue and Li Yinhui who were the finalists in the last edition emerge as the champion after beat the defending champion Chen and Jia in the finals with the score 21–14, 18–21, 21–18.
The Boys' Doubles tournament of the 2012 Asian Junior Badminton Championships was held from July 3–7 in Gimcheon, South Korea. The defending champion of the last edition were Lin Chia-yu and Huang Po-jui from Chinese Taipei. The bronze medals goes to the first seeded Lee Chun Hei / Ng Ka Long of Hong Kong and unseeded players Alfian Eko Prasetya / Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo of Indonesia, after defeated in the semifinals round. Another Indonesian pair Arya Maulana Aldiartama / Edi Subaktiar emerged as the champion after beat Wang Chi-lin / Wu Hsiao-lin of Chinese Taipei in the finals with the score 17–21, 22–20, 21–10.
