The third edition of the Futsal Confederations Cup, which was called the Futsal Continental Cup for this tournament, was held in Kuwait from October 23 to October 28, 2014. [1]

Contents

The tournament was organized by the federations of national participants, in collaboration with Sheikh Talal Al Mohammad Al Sabah, but was not approved by FIFA. Eight teams took part: Egypt, Argentina, Italy, Kuwait (included in Group A), Brazil, Czech Republic, Japan and Guatemala (included in Group B).

The Arabian Gulf Cup, often referred to simply as the Gulf Cup, is a biennial football competition governed by the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation for its eight member nations. The qualification process for the 2004 AFC Asian Cup football competition began in March 2003. Out of the 45 AFC members, only Cambodia and the Philippines failed to enter for the tournament. Both China, the hosts and Japan, the reigning champions automatically qualified for the finals. The lowest ranked 20 teams were placed in 6 preliminary qualifying groups of 3 and one group of 2, with the group winners joining the remaining 21 teams in 7 groups of 4. The top two of each of these groups qualified for the finals in China.

The 2012 AFC Futsal Championship was held in United Arab Emirates from 25 May to 1 June 2012. 16 countries took part in the 12th edition of the tournament. It was also the qualification event for the 2012 FIFA Futsal World Cup to be held in Thailand. The AFC Futsal Committee pushed the dates for the event forward from the original 18 to 25 May.

The 23rd Arabian Gulf Cup was the 23rd edition of the biennial football competition for the eight members of the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation. It took place in Kuwait from 22 December 2017 until 5 January 2018. Oman won their second title, defeating the United Arab Emirates in the final on penalties following a goalless draw.

The 2000 Arab Club Champions Cup in association football was played in Saudi Arabia in the city of Jeddah. CS Sfaxien won the championship for the first time beating in the final Al-Jaish.

Kuwait is one of the most successful teams in the AFC Asian Cup, having won the title once, during the 1980 edition which they were awarded as host, becoming the first Arab team to win the Asian Cup.
