The 2015 FIVB Volleyball Women's U20 World Championship was the eighteenth edition of the FIVB Volleyball Women's U20 World Championship, which was hosted by Puerto Rico from 11 to 19 September 2015 in the cities of Caguas, Gurabo, Juncos and Maunabo.

Contents

Dominican Republic defeated Brazil 3-2 in the final to claim their first title. [1] This marked the first world title for Dominican Republic at any age group. Brayelin Martínez was elected the Most Valuable Player. [2]

Qualification

The FIVB Sports Events Council confirmed a proposal to streamline the number of teams participating in the Age Group World Championships on 14 December 2013. [3]

The 2014 Pan-American Volleyball Cup was the thirteenth edition of the annual women's volleyball tournament, played by twelve countries over June, 2014 in Mexico City, Mexico.

The 2014 Women's U23 Pan-American Volleyball Cup was the second edition of the bi-annual women's volleyball tournament, played by eight countries from September 7–13, 2013 in Ica and Chincha Alta, Peru. At the end of the tournament, the top two teams from NORCECA and the best placed of the CSV qualified for 2015 FIVB Volleyball Women's U23 World Championship, to be held in Ankara, Turkey. Colombia (CSV), Cuba and Dominican Republic (NORCECA) qualified for the World Championship.

The 2015 FIVB Volleyball Women's U23 World Championship was held in Ankara, Turkey, from 12 to 19 August 2015. This was the second edition of the tournament.

The 2015 Women's NORCECA Champions Cup (Final Four) was played from June 5 to June 7 in Havana, Cuba. The Dominican Republic won the tournament and together with Cuba, both qualified for the 2015 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Cup in Japan.

Brayelin Elizabeth Martínez is a Dominican volleyball player who won the bronze medal in the 2015 Pan American Games as a member of the Dominican Republic national team. She played in the 2014 Senior World Championship and the 2011 and 2015 FIVB World Cup.

The 2015 Women's NORCECA Volleyball Championship was the 24th edition of the tournament, played from 27 September to 2 October 2015 in Michoacan, Mexico. The United States defeated 3-1 to the Dominican Republic to win the Continental Championship and both qualified, along with Puerto Rico and Canada, to the NORCECA Olympic Qualifier while American Nicole Fawcett earned the Most Valuable Player award.

Jineiry Martínez is a Dominican volleyball player who played the 2015 FIVB World Cup with the Dominican Republic national team. She won the bronze medal in the 2015 Pan American Games. With her under ages national teams, she won the gold medal in the 2015 FIVB U20 World Championship, silver in the 2013 FIVB U23 World Championship and bronze in the 2015 FIVB U23 World Championship.

Natalia Martínez is a Dominican Republic female volleyball player. With her club Mirador she competed at the 2015 FIVB Club World Championship.

The 2016 Women's Pan-American Volleyball Cup was the 15th edition of the annual women's volleyball tournament. It was held in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic from 2 July to 10 July. Twelve teams competed in the tournament, won by the Dominican Republic when they defeated 3-2 to Puerto Rico. The United States claimed the bronze medal and Dominican Republic athlete Brayelin Martínez was awarded Most Valuable Player.

The 2016 Women's Junior NORCECA Volleyball Championship was the tenth edition of the bi-annual tournament. It was held in Fort Lauderdale, Florida from 26 July to 31 July, and featured eight teams. The Dominican Republic won the tournament and qualified to the 2017 FIVB Women's Junior World Championship. Dominican Natalia Martínez was awarded Most Valuable Player.

The 2017 Men's NORCECA Volleyball Championship was the 25th edition of the tournament, and was held in Colorado Springs, United States from 26 September to 1 October 2017. The top three teams qualified for the 2018 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship, whereas the fourth and fifth ranked teams qualified for the 2018 World Championship NORCECA qualification final four.

The 2016 Girls' Youth NORCECA Volleyball Championship was the tenth edition of the bi-annual volleyball tournament. It was held in San Juan, Puerto Rico from 2 to 7 September among eight countries. The Dominican Republic won the tournament and qualified for the 2017 FIVB Girls' World Championship along with the United States. Dominican Republic player Natalia Martínez won the Most Valuable Player award.

The 2016 Women's U23 Pan-American Volleyball Cup was the third edition of the bi-annual volleyball tournament. It was held in Miraflores and San Vicente de Cañete, Peru from 19 to 25 September among six countries. The Dominican Republic won the tournament for third time and qualified for the 2017 FIVB U23 World Championship along with silver medalists Argentina and Cuba, winners of the bronze medal. Dominican Republic player Brayelin Martínez won the Most Valuable Player award.

The 2018 Women's Pan-American Volleyball Cup was the 17th edition of the annual women's volleyball tournament. It was held in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic from 8 to 14 July. Twelve teams competed and the top five ranked teams at the end of the tournament qualified to the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru.

The 2019 Women's NORCECA Volleyball Championship was the 26th edition of the tournament, and was played from 8 October to 13 October 2019 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The Dominican Republic defeated the United States by 3–2 to win the Continental Championship. Puerto Rico, Canada, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic qualified for the NORCECA Olympic Qualifier, which will see the four teams compete for a spot in the 2020 Olympics. Dominican Brayelin Martínez earned the Most Valuable Player award.

The 2018 Women's Junior NORCECA Volleyball Championship was the eleventh edition of the bi-annual tournament. It was held in Aguascalientes City from 16 June to 24 June, and featured eight teams. The United States won the tournament and qualified to the 2019 FIVB Women's Junior World Championship. American Logan Eggleston was awarded Most Valuable Player.

The 2020 Women's Volleyball North American Olympic Qualification Tournament will be a volleyball tournament for women's national teams to be held in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic from 10 to 12 January 2020. 4 teams will play in the tournament, where the winner will qualify to the 2020 women's Olympic volleyball tournament.
