The 2015 Kowloon City District Council election was held on 22 November 2015 to elect all 24 members of the Kowloon City District Council. [1]
Kowloon City is an area in Kowloon, Hong Kong. It is administratively part of Kowloon City District.
The District Councils, formerly District Boards until 1999, are the local councils for the 18 Districts of Hong Kong. Under the supervision of Home Affairs Bureau of the Hong Kong Government, administration and affairs.
An election is a formal group decision-making process by which a population chooses an individual to hold public office. The Hong Kong Association for Democracy and People's Livelihood is a Hong Kong pro-democracy social-liberal political party catering to grassroots interest with a strong basis in Sham Shui Po. Established on 26 October 1986, it was one of the three major pro-democracy groups along with the Meeting Point and the Hong Kong Affairs Society in the 1980s.

The Kowloon West geographical constituency is one of the five geographical constituencies of the Legislative Council of Hong Kong. It was established in 1998 following a reform to the electoral system for the Legislative Council of Hong Kong. It currently elects six Members of the Legislative Council using the Hare quota of party-list proportional representation. In the 1998 election there were three seats. Whampoa West is one of the 24 constituencies of the Kowloon City District Council. The seat elects one member of the council every four years. The seat has currently been held by Kwong Po-yin of Youngspiration. The boundary is loosely based on the Western area of Whampoa Garden.
These are the Kowloon West results of the 2016 Hong Kong Legislative Council election. The election was held on 4 September 2016 and all 6 seats in Kowloon West where consisted of Yau Tsim Mong District, Sham Shui Po District and Kowloon City District were contested, one extra than the previous election due to the increase of the population. Four of the five incumbents were returned to the legislature with radical democrat Wong Yuk-man lost to the newcomer Yau Wai-ching of radical localist group Youngspiration, who beat Wong by 424 votes. The extra seat was won by college lecturer Lau Siu-lai who advocated for "self-determination". All six winners were women.
