Sham Shui Po District Council is the district council for the Sham Shui Po District in Hong Kong. It is one of 18 district councils. Sham Shui Po District currently consists of 23 members, of which the district is divided into 23 constituencies, electing a total of 23 members. The latest election was held on 22 November 2015.

Veteran legislator Frederick Fung Kin-kee of the Hong Kong Association for Democracy and People's Livelihood (ADPL) lost his seat in Lai Kok to Chan Wing-yan of the Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong (DAB) and the Hong Kong Federation of Trade Unions (FTU).

Hong Kong Association for Democracy and Peoples Livelihood political party

The Hong Kong Association for Democracy and People's Livelihood is a Hong Kong pro-democracy social-liberal political party catering to grassroots interest with a strong basis in Sham Shui Po. Established on 26 October 1986, it was one of the three major pro-democracy groups along with the Meeting Point and the Hong Kong Affairs Society in the 1980s.

Lai Kok is one of the 25 constituencies of the Sham Shui Po District Council. The seat elects one member of the council every four years. It was held by Association for Democracy and People's Livelihood former chairman Frederick Fung until he was defeated by Chan Wing-yan of the Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong (DAB) and Hong Kong Federation of Trade Unions (FTU) in the 2015 District Council election. The boundary is loosely based on the area of Lai Kok Estate.
