The 2015 Tuen Mun District Council election was held on 22 November 2015 to elect all 29 elected members to the 30-member Tuen Mun District Council. [1]
Tuen Mun District Council is the District Council of Tuen Mun District, in the New Territories. The Council consists of 30 members with 29 of those elected through first past the post system every four years with 1 ex officio member who is the Tuen Mun Rural Committee chairman. The latest election was held on 22 November 2015.
In Lok Tsui, veteran Albert Ho Chun-yan lost his seat to former Law Society of Hong Kong president Junius Ho Kwan-yiu, while radical democrat Civic Passion's Cheng Chung-tai took 391 votes, winning 1,617 votes, 125 fewer than Junius Ho.
Lok Tsui is one of the 29 constituencies of the Tuen Mun District Council. The seat elects one member of the council every four years. Since its creation in 1994, the seat has continuously been held by the Democratic Party, and was held by Democratic Party former chairman Albert Ho until he was unseated by Junius Ho Kwan-yiu in the 2015 Hong Kong District Council election.

Civic Passion is a radical, populist, and nativist political party in Hong Kong. Founded by Wong Yeung-tat as an activist group in 2012, it holds strong "localist" views and "militant" approach of protest, opposes the involvement of the Chinese central government in the governance of Hong Kong and has called for the downfall of the Communist Party of China. In the 2016 Legislative Council election, the Civic Passion formed an electoral alliance with Wong Yuk-man's Proletariat Political Institute and Chin Wan's Hong Kong Resurgence Order. Cheng Chung-tai became the only candidate of the alliance elected to the legislature and subsequently took over as the leader of the Civic Passion. After the election, Cheng reorganised the group into a political party and pulled out from the social activism.

Albert Ho Chun-yan is a solicitor and politician in Hong Kong. He is the current chairman of the Hong Kong Alliance in Support of Patriotic Democratic Movements in China and former chairman of the Democratic Party from 2006 to 2012. He is a solicitor and a former member of the Legislative Council of Hong Kong for District Council (Second) constituency.
The New Territories West geographical constituency, or simply "NT West" is one of the geographical constituencies in the Legislative Council of Hong Kong. Located in the western part of the New Territories, it is the largest geographical constituency in Hong Kong. It encompasses Tsuen Wan District, Kwai Tsing District, Tuen Mun District, Yuen Long District and Islands District. It currently elects 9 Members of the Legislative Council using the Hare quota of party-list proportional representation.
Albert Chan Wai-yip陳偉業 is a former member of the Legislative Council of Hong Kong representing the New Territories West constituency. He has served as a legislator from 1991 to 2016 except for the periods 1997–2000 and Jan–May 2010. Chan, formerly a social worker, was a member of the Tsuen Wan District Council.
Ng Ming-yam was a Hong Kong politician and writer. He was one of the important founders of the United Democrats of Hong Kong, a member of the Tuen Mun District Council, an elected member of the Regional Council and the youngest member of the legislative council to die in office. He was a supporter for the protesters of the Tiananmen Square protests of 1989 in Beijing, China, and is best-remembered for leading a supporting crowd with a flag during the protest in Hong Kong in support of the Chinese protest.
Lau Wong-fat, GBM, GBS, JP was a Hong Kong businessman and politician. He had been the long-time chairman of the Rural Council, the most powerful organ representing the interests of the New Territories indigenous inhabitants from 1980 to 2015. He was also a member of the Legislative Council of Hong Kong from 1985 to 2016. From 2009 to 2012 he was a non-official member of the Executive Council of Hong Kong. He had also served as the member of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and chairman of the Regional Council and the Tuen Mun District Council.

Junius Kwan-yiu Ho (Chinese: 何君堯; born 4 June 1962) is a Hong Kong lawyer and politician. He is the former President of the Law Society of Hong Kong and Tuen Mun Rural Committee. He has been also an elected member of the Tuen Mun District Council since 2015. In 2016, he was elected to the Legislative Council of Hong Kong.
The 1991 Urban Council and Regional Council elections were the municipal elections held on 5 May 1991 for the elected seats of the Urban Council and Regional Council respectively. These are the New Territories West results of the Hong Kong legislative election, 2012. The election was held on 9 September 2012 and all 9 seats in New Territories West, which consists of Tsuen Wan District, Tuen Mun District, Yuen Long District, Kwai Tsing District and Islands District, were contested. The Democratic Party suffered a devastating result by losing all two of their seats in the region. The electoral strategy of the Civic Party, the heavyweight Audrey Eu placed second after Kwok Ka-ki in the hope of gaining two seats, produced an extra 70,000 votes but this was still not enough to get Eu into the LegCo. The Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong split three separate lists in order to avoid wasted votes. All three DAB lists were elected.

The Tuen Mun Rural Committee is a rural committee in Hong Kong. It was founded by rural leader Chan Yat-sen in 1953 with representatives from 29 villages in Tuen Mun. Today the rural committee consisted of 36 villages and 69 village representatives.
The 1991 New Territories West by-election was held on 8 December 1991 after the incumbent Legislative Councillor Tai Chin-wah of New Territories West resigned from the Legislative Council of Hong Kong (LegCo) on 8 October 1991 weeks after the 1991 general election as he was being discovered of his falsified legal qualifications.

The election was held on 4 September 2016 and all 9 seats in New Territories West, which consists of Tsuen Wan District, Tuen Mun District, Yuen Long District, Kwai Tsing District and Islands District, were contested. Veteran social activist Eddie Chu received the highest votes of 84,121, 14 per cent of the vote share, in all geographical constituencies. The Democratic Party retook one seat after it was ousted in the previous election with newcomer Andrew Wan, while independent lawyer Junius Ho who was backed by the Liaison Office won the last seat by defeating pro-democracy heavyweight Labour Party's Lee Cheuk-yan. Localist group Civic Passion's Cheng Chung-tai also won the only seat for the CP–PPI–HKRO electoral alliance.
