The 2016 FIBA U18 African Championship was the 17th edition, played under the rules of FIBA, the world governing body for basketball, and the FIBA Africa thereof. The tournament was hosted by Rwanda from July 22 to 31, with the games played at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali.

Contents

Angola defeated Egypt 86–82 in the final to win their 4th title. [1] The tournament qualified all three medallists to the 2017 Under-19 World Championship.

AfroBasket 2009 was the 25th FIBA Africa Championship, played under the auspices of the Fédération Internationale de Basketball, the basketball sport governing body, and the African zone thereof. At stake were the three berths allocated to Africa in the 2010 FIBA World Championship. The tournament was hosted by Libya after Nigeria, the original host, withdrew from hosting after not conforming to FIBA Africa guidelines.

The tournament was hosted by Mozambique from October 5 to 12, with the games played at the Pavilhão do Maxaquene in Maputo.

The 2010 FIBA Africa Under-18 Championship for Women was the 10th FIBA Africa Under-18 Championship for Women, played under the rules of FIBA, the world governing body for basketball, and the FIBA Africa thereof. The tournament was hosted by Egypt and ran from July 29 to August 6.

The 2007 edition of the men's basketball tournament of the African Games was the 9th, organized by FIBA Africa and played under the auspices of FIBA, the basketball sport governing body. The tournament was held from 12 to 22 July 2007 in Algiers, Algeria, contested by 11 national teams and won by Angola, who defeated Egypt 56–50 in the final to win their third title.

The 2014 FIBA Africa Under-18 Championship was the 16th FIBA U18 African Championship, played under the rules of FIBA, the world governing body for basketball, and the FIBA Africa thereof. The tournament was hosted by Madagascar from August 2 to 10, with the games played at the Palais des Sports Mahamasina in Antananarivo.

The 2015 FIBA Africa Championship for Women was the 22nd AfroBasket Women, played under the rules of FIBA, the world governing body for basketball, and FIBA Africa. The tournament was hosted by Cameroon from 24 September to 3 October, with games played at the Yaoundé. The winners qualified for the 2016 Summer Olympics.

The 2015 FIBA Africa Under-16 Championship for Men was the 4th U-16 FIBA Africa championship, organized by FIBA Africa and played under the auspices of the Fédération Internationale de Basketball, the basketball sport governing body and qualified for the 2016 FIBA Under-17 World Championship. The tournament was held from July 30 to August 8 at the Palais des sports à l’ACI 2000 in Bamako, Mali, contested by 11 national teams and won by Egypt.

The 2015 FIBA Africa Women's Clubs Champions Cup, was an international basketball tournament that took place at the Pavilhão Multiusos do Kilamba, in Luanda, Angola, from November 27 to December 6, 2015. The tournament, organized by FIBA Africa and hosted by Grupo Desportivo do Maculusso, was contested by 12 teams split into 2 groups, the first four of each group qualifying for the knock-out stage.

The 2016 FIBA Africa U18 Women's Championship was the 13th U-18 FIBA Africa championship, played under the auspices of the Fédération Internationale de Basketball, the world basketball sport governing body. The tournament was held from 26 August to 4 September 2016 in Cairo, Egypt and contested by 8 national teams.

The finalists of this championship earned the right to represent the continent at the 2019 FIBA Under-19 Basketball World Cup in Greece.
