The 2016 Southland Conference baseball tournament was held from May 25 through 28. The top eight regular season finishers of the league's ten teams met in the double-elimination tournament to be held at Constellation Field in Sugar Land, Texas. Sam Houston State won their fifth Tournament championship and earned the conference's automatic bid to the 2016 NCAA Division I baseball tournament. Abilene Christian and Incarnate Word were ineligible for postseason play as they transition from Division II. [2] [3]
The top eight finishers from the regular season, not including Abilene Christian or Incarnate Word, will be seeded one through eight. They will play a two bracket, double-elimination tournament, with the winner of each bracket meeting in a single championship final.
Every game of the tournament will be broadcast exclusively on ESPN3. [4]

The 2014 Southland Conference baseball tournament was held from May 21 through 24. The top eight regular season finishers of the league's fourteen teams met in the double-elimination tournament held at Bear Stadium on the campus of Central Arkansas University in Conway, Arkansas. The event returned to a campus environment for one year before again being played at neutral Sugar Land, Texas, in 2015 and 2016. Southeastern Louisiana won their first tournament championship and earned the conference's automatic bid to the 2014 NCAA Division I baseball tournament.
The 2015 Southland Conference men's basketball tournament, a part of the 2014–15 NCAA Division I men's basketball season, took place March 11–14 at the Merrell Center in Katy, Texas. The winner of the tournament received the Southland Conference's automatic bid to the 2015 NCAA tournament. Two programs in their second year of the transition from NCAA Division II to Division I, Abilene Christian and Incarnate Word, were ineligible for the tournament. Three programs were ineligible for the tournament for failure to meet enhanced NCAA Academic Performance Rating (APR) requirements. Those teams were Central Arkansas, Houston Baptist, and Lamar. The three teams are part of a group of nine NCAA teams ineligible for 2015 post season basketball play. With the departure of Oral Roberts to the Summit League, only eight conference teams remain eligible for the tournament.

The 2019 Southland Conference men's basketball tournament was held in Katy, Texas at the Merrell Center from March 13–17, 2019. The 2nd seeded Abilene Christian Wildcats won the conference tournament championship and received the conference automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. Two other teams also received bids to post season tournaments. Conference regular season champion, Sam Houston State, received the conference automatic bid to the NIT tournament. New Orleans received a bid to the CIT tournament.

Fourth-seeded Sam Houston State won their second overall championship, and what would be the first of three consecutive titles, and claimed the automatic bid to the 2007 NCAA Division I baseball tournament.

The event pitted the top six finishers from the conference's regular season in a double-elimination tournament held at Fair Grounds Field in Shreveport, Louisiana. Fourth-seeded Sam Houston State won their first championship and claimed the automatic bid to the 1996 NCAA Division I baseball tournament.
The 2019 Southland Conference women's soccer tournament, the postseason women's soccer tournament for the Southland Conference, was held from November 6 to November 10, 2019. The seven-match tournament took place at the Bill Stephens Track/Soccer Complex in Conway, Arkansas. The eight-team single-elimination tournament consisted of three rounds based on seeding from regular season conference play. The defending champions were the Abilene Christian Wildcats, but they were unable to defend their title falling in the first round to McNeese State 2–1. The Lamar Cardinals won the tournament, defeating Northwestern State 3–1 in the final. The title was the second overall for the Lamar Cardinals program, both of which have come under head coach Steve Holeman.

The defending champions were the Lamar Lady Cardinals, but they were unable to defend their title falling in the first round to Sam Houston State 4–3. The Southeastern Lady Lions won the tournament, defeating Sam Houston 3–0 in the final.
