Seeding and format

The top eight finishers from the regular season were seeded one through eight. They played a two bracket, double-elimination tournament, with the winner of each bracket meeting in a single championship final.

The Southeastern Conference baseball tournament is the conference tournament in baseball for the Southeastern Conference (SEC). It is a partially double-elimination tournament and seeding is based on regular season conference records. The winner receives the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Division I baseball tournament. The SEC Tournament champion is separate from the conference champion. The conference championship is determined solely by regular season record.

This was the twenty fourth annual Big East Conference baseball tournament, and second to be held at Bright House Field. The Louisville Cardinals won their first tournament championship and claimed the Big East Conference's automatic bid to the 2008 NCAA Division I baseball tournament. Louisville joined the league prior to the 2006 season.

In the championship game, fifth-seeded Liberty defeated first-seeded Campbell, 2-1, to win its fourth tournament championship. The event pitted the top six finishers from the conference's regular season in a double-elimination tournament held at Vincent–Beck Stadium, home field of Lamar in Beaumont, Texas. Fifth-seeded Texas–Arlington won their second overall championship and claimed the automatic bid to the 2006 NCAA Division I baseball tournament.

The 2022 Southland Conference baseball tournament will be held from May 19 through 21 and May 26 to 28. The top eight regular season finishers of the league's thirteen teams will meet in the double-elimination tournament. The first round will be held at the home fields of the top two seeds, while the finals will be held at the home field of the top remaining seed. The winner of the tournament will earn the conference's automatic bid to the 2022 NCAA Division I baseball tournament.
