The 2017 FEU Tamaraws Men's Basketball Team represents Far Eastern University during the University Athletic Association of the Philippines' 80th season in men's basketball division. The Tamaraws are led by their rookie head coach Olsen Racela who replaced his brother Nash, who took over professional team TNT KaTropa in the Philippine Basketball Association.
The Tamaraws are looking to reclaim the crown this season as they parade an experienced lineup led by ex-Ateneo Blue Eagles Hubert Cani, Arvin Tolentino and Filipino-American Jasper Parker.

The University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP), established in 1938, is an athletic association of eight Metro Manila universities in the Philippines. The eight-member schools are Adamson University (AdU), Ateneo de Manila University (AdMU), De La Salle University (DLSU), Far Eastern University (FEU), National University (NU), University of the East (UE), University of the Philippines Diliman (UP), and the University of Santo Tomas (UST). Varsity teams from these universities compete annually in the league's 30 events from 17 disciplines to vie for the overall championship title, namely, 3x3 basketball, badminton, baseball, basketball, beach volleyball, chess, fencing, football, judo, softball, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo poomsae, taekwondo kyorugi (sparring), tennis, track and field, and volleyball.

The FEU Tamaraws are the varsity teams of Far Eastern University in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP). The collegiate women's varsity teams are called the Lady Tamaraws while the high school varsity teams are called the Baby Tamaraws.
Rodericko Cesar Escueta Racela, also known as Olsen Racela, is the head coach of the FEU Tamaraws men's basketball team. He is also currently an assistant coach of the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). He is a retired PBA player and is considered to be one of the best point guards who ever played in the league. He was also a notable member of the Philippine national basketball team on many occasions.
Larry Alexander Nacua Fonacier is a Filipino professional basketball player for the NLEX Road Warriors of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). He was drafted fourteenth overall by the Red Bull Barako in the 2005 PBA draft.
The University Athletic Association of the Philippines Season 74 basketball tournaments are the basketball events of UAAP's 2011-12 season. Ateneo de Manila University was the season host. The season started with an Olympic-style opening ceremony on July 9, 2011 and followed by a doubleheader basketball games on July 10 at the Araneta Coliseum.
The FEU Tamaraws men's basketball is a collegiate basketball varsity team of the Far Eastern University. FEU currently holds the record of winning the most number of championships in the men's basketball division of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines. FEU also appeared in the Philippine Collegiate Championship finals four times, and was able to win back to back championships in 2004 and 2005. The team originally played in the NCAA from 1929 to 1936 and was one of its founding members. This will be Nash Racela's final season as the coach of the Tamaraws as he will be handling PBA team TNT KaTropa. Nash's brother Olsen Racela will be the new head coach of the team for season 80.
Jeron Alvin Uy Teng is a Filipino professional basketball player for the Converge FiberXers of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). As a PBA player, he usually starts at the swingman position but occasionally plays as a power forward during the Philippine Cup. A renowned prodigy, he holds multiple high school records for the Xavier Golden Stallions. After his famous high school career, he played for the De La Salle Green Archers in the UAAP with equally great success. He won a couple UAAP championships as the team captain and has the rare distinction of simultaneously winning two UAAP finals MVP awards.
Rachel Anne Daquis is a Filipino volleyball player. She graduated from the Far Eastern University where she took up Business Management. She was also the team captain of the PLDT HOME TVolution women's team that played in the 2014 Asian Women's Club Volleyball Championship. She is a former team captain of the FEU Lady Tamaraws in her collegiate years, where she was given the title "Queen Tamaraw". She is currently playing in the Philippine Super Liga (PSL) with the Cignal HD Spikers and is the PSL's brand ambassador for 2018 to 2019.

UAAP Season 84 was the 2021–22 athletic year of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP). The Season 84 theme was "Fully Alive, Champions for Life" and the season's host was the De La Salle University. With the limitations brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, UAAP Season 84 only held men's 5-on-5 basketball, men's and women's 3×3 basketball, women's indoor volleyball, men's beach volleyball, cheerdance, co-ed poomsae; and men's and women's chess tournaments as its events for the season. UST was declared UAAP general champion based on eight sporting events. Only the men's 5-on-5 basketball, women's indoor volleyball, and cheerdance were televised. The opening ceremony of Season 84 was presented virtually.
Arvin Dave de Leon Tolentino is a Filipino professional basketball player for the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). He was drafted 10th overall pick by the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel in the 2019 PBA draft.
George Isaac Yap Go is a Filipino-Chinese professional basketball player for the Terrafirma Dyip of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). He is a three-time UAAP champion with the Ateneo Blue Eagles.
John Adrian Abando Wong is a Filipino-American professional basketball player for the Magnolia Hotshots of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). After growing up in Dallas, Texas, he moved to the Philippines to pursue his college and professional basketball career.
Maria Angelica Cayuna is a Filipino volleyball athlete. Cayuna played for the Far Eastern University collegiate women's University team. She is currently plays for the Cignal HD Spikers in the Premier Volleyball League.
