Double trap is a shotgun shooting sport, one of the ISSF shooting events. Participants use a shotgun to attempt to break a clay disk flung away from the shooter at high speed.

The ISSF World Shooting Championships are governed by the International Shooting Sport Federation. World Shooting Championships began in 1897, after the successful 1896 Summer Olympics, and although the ISSF was not founded until 1907, these early competitions are still seen by the organization as the beginning of a continuous row of championships. By this logic, the 2006 competition in Zagreb was called the 49th ISSF World Shooting Championships. These championships, including all ISSF shooting events, are held every four years since 1954. For the shotgun events only, there is an additional World Championship competition in odd-numbered years. These extra competitions are not numbered. In running target, there will be World Championships in Olympic years.

The 2009 Asian Airgun Championships were held in Doha, Qatar between December 16 and December 22, 2009. It acts as the Asian qualifying tournament for the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics in Singapore.

Subedar Chain Singh is an Indian sport shooter and a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) in the Indian Army. He won the Bronze medal at the 2014 Asian Games in the men's 50m rifle 3 positions event. He won an individual Gold medal in the 7th Asian Airgun championship Kuwait. He won six Gold medals, three in individual events and three in team events, in the 2016 South Asian Games.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2015 Asian Shooting Championships</span>

The 2015 Asian Shooting Championships was held in Kuwait between November 1 and November 12. This tournament was supposed to be an Asian qualifying tournament for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio. However, this qualification event lost its Rio Olymipics qualification status when the IOC suspended Kuwait NOC for government interference.

Gayatri Pawaskar is the youngest rifle shooter in the list of top 30 in India. Pawaskar he received a gold medal for the Women's Youth Team 10-metre air rifle at the 13th Asian Shooting Championship.

Arjun Babuta is an Indian sport shooter. He is from Chandigarh who competes in the 10 meter air rifle events. Arjun has been a part of the Indian Shooting Team since 2016. He has represented India at the ISSF Junior World Cup 2016(Suhl), ISSF Junior World Cup 2016(Gabala), ISSF Junior World Championship 2017(Suhl) and the ISSF Junior World Cup 2018(Sydney).

Haniyeh Rostamiyan is an Iranian sports shooter. She represented Iran at the 2020 Summer Olympics in the Women's 10 metre air pistol event, where she placed tenth, and in the 10 metre air pistol mixed team event, where her team placed fifth. She was also one of Iran's two flag bearers.
