The 2018 Big 12 Conference Baseball Tournament will be held from May 23 through May 27 at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The annual tournament determines the conference champion of the Division I Big 12 Conference for college baseball. The winner of the tournament will earn the league's automatic bid to the 2018 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament. [2] [3]

The tournament has been held since 1997, the inaugural year of the Big 12 Conference. Among current league members, Texas has won the most championships with five. Among original members, Baylor and Kansas State have never won the event. Iowa State discontinued their program after the 2001 season without having won a title. Having joined in 2013, TCU won their first title in 2014 while West Virginia has yet to win the Tournament.

Format and seeding

The top eight finishers from the regular season will be seeded one through eight, and will then play a two-bracket double-elimination tournament leading to a winner-take-all championship game. [4]

Big 12 Conference Collegiate athletics conference operating primarily in the west-central United States

The Big 12 Conference is a collegiate athletic conference headquartered in Irving, Texas. The conference consists of ten full-member universities. It is a member of Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) for all sports. Its football teams compete in the Football Bowl Subdivision, the higher of two levels of NCAA Division I football competition. Its ten members, in the states of Iowa, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, and West Virginia, include eight public and two private, Christian schools. Texas Longhorns baseball

The Texas Longhorns baseball team represents The University of Texas at Austin in NCAA Division I intercollegiate men's baseball competition. The Longhorns currently compete in the Big 12 Conference.

The 2007 Big 12 Conference Baseball Tournament was held at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma City, OK from May 23 through May 27. Texas A&M won the tournament and earned the Big 12 Conference's automatic bid to the 2007 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament. This was the second year the conference used the round robin tournament setup. The winners of each group at the end of the round robin faced each other in a one-game match for the championship.

The 2006 Big 12 Conference Baseball Tournament was held at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma City, OK from May 24 through May 28. Kansas won their first tournament and earned the Big 12 Conference's automatic bid to the 2006 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament. This was the first year that the tournament adopted a round-robin format, with the winners of two 4-team pools facing off in a championship game.

The 2008 Big 12 Conference Baseball Tournament was held at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma City, OK from May 21 to May 25, 2008. This was the third year the conference uses the round robin tournament setup. The winners of each group at the end of the round robin face each other in a one-game match for the championship.

The 2009 Big 12 Conference Baseball Tournament was held at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, United States, from May 20 to May 24, 2009. This was the fourth year the conference used the round robin tournament setup. The winners of each group at the end of the round robin faced each other in a one-game match for the championship. The Texas Longhorns defeated the Missouri Tigers, 12-7 to win the championship.

The 2010 Big 12 Conference Baseball Tournament is held at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma City, OK from May 26th to May 30th, 2010. This is the fifth year the conference uses the round robin tournament setup. The winners of each group at the end of the round robin face each other in a one-game match for the championship. The Texas A&M Aggies defeated the Baylor Bears 5-3 to win the championship.

2012 Big 12 Conference Baseball Tournament

The 2012 Big 12 Conference Baseball Tournament will be held at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma City, OK from May 23rd to May 27th, 2012. The tournament will continue the format reinstated with the 2011 tournament, consisting of two separate four-team double-elimination tournaments. The winners of each of those tournaments will face each other in a one-game match for the championship. Missouri defeated Oklahoma in the championship game, 8-7, to earn the Big 12 Conference's automatic bid to the 2012 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament.

The 2013 Big 12 Conference Baseball Tournament will be held from May 22 through May 26 at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The annual tournament determines the conference champion of the Division I Big 12 Conference for college baseball.
