The 2014 Big 12 Conference Baseball Tournament was held from May 21 through May 25 at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma City. The annual tournament determined the conference champion of the Division I Big 12 Conference for college baseball. TCU won the tournament for the first time, earning the league's automatic bid to the 2014 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament. [2] [3] [4]

The tournament has been held since 1997, the inaugural year of the Big 12 Conference. Among current league members, Texas has won the most championships with four. Among original members, Baylor and Kansas State have never won the event. Iowa State discontinued their program after the 2001 season without having won a title. West Virginia, a new member of the league in 2013, had also have yet to win the Tournament, as of 2014.

Format and seeding

The top eight finishers from the regular season were seeded one through eight, and then played a two-bracket double-elimination tournament leading to a winner-take-all championship game. [5] [6]

Big 12 Conference Collegiate athletics conference operating primarily in the west-central United States

The Big 12 Conference is a collegiate athletic conference headquartered in Irving, Texas. The conference consists of ten full-member universities. It is a member of Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) for all sports. Its football teams compete in the Football Bowl Subdivision, the higher of two levels of NCAA Division I football competition. The College World Series (CWS) is an annual baseball tournament held in June in Omaha, Nebraska. The CWS is the culmination of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I Baseball Championship tournament—featuring 64 teams in the first round—which determines the NCAA Division I college baseball champion. The eight participating teams are split into two, four-team, double-elimination brackets, with the winners of each bracket playing in a best-of-three championship series.

Big 12 Championship Game College football game held by the Big 12 Conference

The Big 12 Championship Game is a college football game held by the Big 12 Conference between the best and the second best Big 12 team. The game was played each year since the conference's formation in 1996 until 2010 and returned during the 2017 season. From 1996 to 2010, the championship game pitted the Big 12 North Division champion against the South Division champion in a game held after the regular season was completed. From 2017 onward, the game features the two teams with the best conference records.

TCU Horned Frogs

The TCU Horned Frogs are the athletic teams that represent Texas Christian University. The 18 varsity teams participate in NCAA Division I and in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) for football, competing mostly in the Big 12 Conference. The school was a founding member of the Southwest Conference and was a member of the Western Athletic Conference, Conference USA, and the Mountain West Conference before joining the Big 12. Two TCU teams participate outside the Big 12 in sports not sponsored by that conference. The rifle team competes in the Patriot Rifle Conference, and the beach volleyball team plays in the Coastal Collegiate Sports Association.

Big 12 Mens Basketball Tournament

The Big 12 Men's Basketball Tournament is the championship men's basketball tournament in the Big 12 Conference. It is a single-elimination tournament of four rounds, with the top six seeds getting byes in the first round. Seeding is based on regular season records. The winner of the tournament receives the Big 12 Conference automatic bid to the NCAA Championship tournament.

TCU Horned Frogs baseball

The TCU Horned Frogs baseball team represents Texas Christian University in NCAA Division I baseball. The Frogs have competed in the Big 12 Conference since 2013 and previously competed in the Mountain West, Conference USA, Western Athletic Conference and Southwest Conference. Since February 2003, the Horned Frogs have played their home games at Lupton Stadium, located on the TCU campus in Fort Worth, Texas.

Big 12 Conference Mens Basketball Player of the Year

The Big 12 Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Year is a basketball award given to the Big 12 Conference's most outstanding player. The award was first given following the 1996–97 season, the first year of conference competition but three years after the conference's official formation. It is selected by the league's head coaches, who are not allowed to vote for their own players.

The 2010 NCAA Division I baseball season, play of college baseball in the United States organized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division I level, began on February 19, 2010. The season progressed through the regular season, many conference tournaments and championship series, and concluded with the 2010 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament and 2010 College World Series. The College World Series, which consisted of the eight remaining teams in the NCAA Tournament, was held in its annual location of Omaha, Nebraska. 2019 TCU Horned Frogs baseball team

The 2019 TCU Horned Frogs baseball team represents Texas Christian University during the 2019 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Horned Frogs play their home games at Charlie & Marie Lupton Baseball Stadium as a member of the Big 12 Conference. They are led by head coach Jim Schlossnagle, the winningest coach in TCU baseball history, in his 16th year at TCU.

2019 Big 12 Conference Softball Tournament

The 2019 Big 12 Conference Softball tournament will be held at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma from May 10 through May 11, 2019. The tournament winner will earn the Big 12 Conference's automatic bid to the 2019 NCAA Division I Softball Tournament. All games of the tournament aired on Fox College Sports, the championship game will air on FS2. Due to Weather conditions, the last 4 games of the Big 12 Tournament were canceled. Therefore the Automatic bid was given to the regular season champion which would be Oklahoma.

The 2020 Big 12 Conference Baseball Tournament was scheduled to be held from May 20 through May 24 at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The annual tournament determines the conference champion of the Division I Big 12 Conference for college baseball. The winner of the tournament would have earned the league's automatic bid to the 2020 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament.
