The 2014 Sydney Roosters season was the 107th in the club's history. They competed in the 2014 National Rugby League season. The Sydney Roosters opened their 2014 season against their long-time rivals the South Sydney Rabbitohs. In 2014, Trent Robinson coached the Sydney Roosters. Anthony Minichiello captained the team in 2014 along with four vice-captains in Boyd Cordner, Jake Friend, Mitchell Pearce and Jared Waerea-Hargreaves. The Sydney Roosters began 2014 by winning the World Club Challenge defeating the Wigan Warriors 36 – 14. The Sydney Roosters completed their 2014 regular season as Minor Premiers for the second year in a row, defeating the South Sydney Rabbitohs 22 – 18. The Sydney Roosters 2014 season ended in defeat against the South Sydney Rabbitohs 32 – 22.

The 2017 Melbourne Storm season was the 20th in the club's history. They competed in the 2017 NRL season and at the end of the Regular season had finished in 1st place earning them their third legitimate minor premiership. The team was coached by Craig Bellamy, coaching the club for his 15th consecutive season. Melbourne Storm were also captained by Cameron Smith, who has been the sole captain for the team since 2008—making this his 10th consecutive season. Cameron Smith broke a number of league, club and personal records throughout the 2017 season including the NRL games record for the most games played, league record for the most wins as a captain, a personal best for the most points in a game and also scored his 2000th career point and 1000th career goal, the first time any player has achieved this.

The 2017 NRL season is the 110th season of professional rugby league in Australia and the 20th season run by the National Rugby League. The season started in with the annual Auckland Nines, and was followed by the All Stars Match. Round 1 commenced on 2 March with 2016 premiers Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks playing Brisbane Broncos.

The 2018 New Zealand Warriors season was the 24th season in the club's history. Coached by Stephen Kearney and captained by Roger Tuivasa-Sheck, the Warriors completed the National Rugby League's 2018 Telstra Premiership regular season in the number eight position, qualifying for the finals. They were defeated in the 1st Elimination Final by Penrith and did not progress further.

The 2018 Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs season was the 84th in the club's history. Coached by Dean Pay, they finished the National Rugby League's 2018 Telstra Premiership in 12th place and did not qualify for the finals.

The 2018 Manly Warringah Sea Eagles season was the 69th in the club's history since their entry into the then New South Wales Rugby Football League premiership in 1947. The team came second last in the regular season and did not qualify for the finals.

The 2018 St. George Illawarra Dragons season was the 20th in the joint venture club's history. The Dragons competed in the NRL's 2018 Telstra Premiership season.
