The 5th African Entertainment Awards USA was held at the New Jersey Institute of Technology in Newark, New Jersey on October 19, 2019 and was televised on Sahara TV. Nominees [1] were revealed on August 23, 2019. The 5th ceremony honors African excellence [2] as it marks 5 years as an NGO and the show host were; Eric Omondi, [3] and Anita Fabiola. [4]

Edrisah Kenzo Musuuza, professionally known as Eddy Kenzo, is a Ugandan singer, music executive, the president and founder of Uganda National Musicians Federation and a member of Big Talent Entertainment. He made his breakthrough after the release of his single Stamina. He received international attention after the release of his single, "Sitya Loss" in 2014 and an accompanying viral video that featured the Ghetto Kids. In total, he has released 4 albums, including Roots in 2018 and most recently Made in Africa in 2021. Kenzo has also won a Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Award in 2018, a BET Award in 2015, and multiple All Africa Music Awards.

Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr., is a Ghanaian reggae-dancehall artist. He is known by his stage name Shatta Wale, formerly Bandana. His best-known singles are "Dancehall King", "My Level" and "Taking Over". He is also known for "Already" from Beyoncé's The Lion King: The Gift, which also featured Major Lazer. His song "Dancehall King" earned him the Artiste of the Year at the 2014 edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards. Wale is also an actor who appeared in the films Never Say Never,The trial of Shatta Wale and Shattered Lives. Wale's 2004 recording "Moko Hoo" was nominated for a Ghana Music Award.

Sheebah Karungi, professionally known as Queen Karma and Sheebah, is a Ugandan musician, dancer, actress and feminist activist. She debuted her acting career in Queen of Katwe as Shakira. After quitting Obsessions, a dance group she joined in 2006, she started making music and later rose to recognition upon the release of her hit single "Ice Cream". In 2014, she released her debut project Ice Cream, a five-track EP which did well commercially and led her to win back-to-back HiPipo Music Awards Best Female Artist in 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018. She also won the Artist of the Year award twice, in 2017, 2018, and 2019 at the HiPipo Music Awards. In 2024, she was appointed vice president of the Uganda National Musician Federation assisting Eddy Kenzo who is the president of the federation.

Omary Rajabu Tambwe is a Tanzanian media personality, Content Creator, Brand Influencer and entrepreneur. Known as Lil Ommy, he is known for hosting “The Switch” a radio show about music, news, and culture programming. He also host “Big Sunday Live”, a TV show on Wasafi TV.

The 6th AEAUSA was held at New Jersey on December 20, 2020 with no live audience due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The ceremony was broadcast live on AEAUSA YouTube channel. Nominees were revealed on October 9, 2020. The ceremony seeks to reward excellence in entrepreneurship, community leadership, and the entrainment industry in Africa and the diaspora.

Matthew David Benson, better known by his stage name Matt B, is a Grammy-nominated American singer, songwriter, musician, and record producer whose genres have been generally classified as R&B, Hip hop, and Afrobeats. His album, Eden, debuted in the Top 40 on Billboard's R&B albums chart.

The 7th AEAUSA to be held in New Jersey. The award show to be hosted by Nancy Isime, Idris Sultan, and Jynnyn Edwards. The nominees were announced on 1 November 2021, following the opening of the voting portal, with Wizkid leading with eight nominations. Tems, and Diamond Platnumz with six nominations. Tiwa Savage, Burna Boy, and Focalistic with five nominations. Wizkid had the highest award winnings at the 7th AEAUSA Awards by securing 5 awards at the ceremony.

Eric Omondi is a Kenyan comedian and actor. He made his comedy debut in Churchill Show, a comedy show that airs on NTV in 2008. He has since won three African Entertainment Awards USA for 'Best Comedian' in 2018, 2019 and 2020.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Gimme Love (Matt B and Eddy Kenzo song)</span> 2022 single by Matt B featuring Eddy Kenzo

"Gimme Love" is a Grammy-nominated song written and recorded by Matt B and Ugandan artist, Eddy Kenzo. The single was recorded by Matt B and Kenzo in October 2021 and was issued as a single on March 4, 2022, internationally. The song peaked at number 36 on the Billboard US Afrobeats Songs chart in November 2022. On the Viba Hot 100, Uganda's official singles chart, it peaked at number ten. "Gimme Love" was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Global Music Performance in 2022.
