Chen Long, is a Chinese former professional badminton player. He is the 2016 Olympic champion, two-time World champion, and an Asian champion.
Viktor Axelsen is a Danish badminton player. He is the 2017 and 2022 World champion and the 2020 Olympic champion. He won the 2010 World Junior Championships, beating South Korea's Kang Ji-wook in the final to become the first ever European singles player to hold the title. Axelsen is a three-time European champion, having won the title in 2016, 2018 and 2022.
Tai Tzu-ying is a Taiwanese badminton player. At the age of 22, she became world No. 1 in the women's singles in December 2016, and she is the women's singles player who has held that title for the longest in BWF history, with 213 weeks. Tai was the women's singles silver medalist in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and the gold medalist in 2017 Summer Universiade and at the 2018 Asian Games. She has won the year-end tournament BWF Superseries/World Tour Finals three times, and the All England Open thrice as of 2020. She has also won back-to-back Asian Championships titles.
Michelle Li is a Canadian badminton player from Markham, Ontario. Li is the 2014 Commonwealth Games champion and the first Canadian to win an individual gold medal in women's singles badminton at the Commonwealth Games. She has won gold in both singles and doubles at the Pan American Games, and won the singles and team event titles from the Pan American Badminton Championships. As a competitor for Ontario, Li also won singles, doubles, and mixed team titles at the 2011 Canada Winter Games.
Du Pengyu is a Chinese former badminton player. Du specializes in men's singles where he has distinguished himself as one of China's top ranked male players. His earliest major success came at the 2010 Swiss Open Super Series where he reached the semifinals.
Prannoy Haseena Sunil Kumar, also known as H. S. Prannoy, is an Indian badminton player who currently trains at the Gopichand Badminton Academy in Hyderabad. Prannoy originally hails from Thiruvananthapuram and has a career-high world ranking of number 8, which he attained in June 2018. He studied at Kendriya Vidyalaya Akkulam.
Busanan Ongbamrungphan is a Thai badminton player who specializes in singles. She competed at the 2014 and 2018 Asian Games as well as the 2020 Summer Olympics.
Alfian Eko Prasetya is an Indonesian badminton player specializes in doubles, affiliated with Jaya Raya Jakarta badminton club. He was the mixed doubles gold medalist at the 2011 BWF World Junior Championships partnered with Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja. He won his first Grand Prix title at the 2014 New Zealand Open with Annisa Saufika.
Hafiz Faizal is an Indonesian badminton player who is affiliated with the Jaya Raya Jakarta badminton club.
Chen Qingchen is a Chinese badminton player. She started her achievements under her coach Li Yongbo, with partner in the women's doubles Jia Yifan, and in the mixed doubles Zheng Siwei. She ended the 2016 BWF Season by winning the BWF Most Promising Player of the Year, also completed her success by winning titles at the 2016 BWF Superseries Finals in the women's and mixed doubles categories respectively. In 2017, she was awarded as the BWF Best Female Player of the Year, after came to Dubai World Superseries Finals as the first seeded both in women's and mixed doubles, and also won the women's doubles gold and mixed doubles silver medals at the 2017 BWF World Championships in Glasgow, Scotland. In women's doubles, she also won gold medals at the 2021, 2022 World Championships, 2018 Asian Games and at the 2019 Asian Championships.
Shi Yuqi is a Chinese badminton player. Shi Yuqi won his first Superseries title in the 2016 French Open. At the 2017 All England Open, he defeated 6-time champion Lin Dan to reach the final, and repeated the same feat again at the 2018 All England Open, where he outclassed Lin Dan in the tournament final.

The 2022 Badminton Asia Championships was a badminton tournament held at the Muntinlupa Sports Complex, Muntinlupa in the Philippines from 26 April to 1 May 2022. The prior tournament was held in 2019, with no tournament held for the ensuing two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Tay Wei Ming is a Singaporean para-badminton player. He was Singapore's first ever Para-Badminton world champion. He won the BWF Para-Badminton World Championships in 2017, when he partnered Indonesia's Suryo Nugroho to defeat the World No.1 Malaysian pair of Cheah Liek Hou and Hairol Fozi Saaba to claim gold in the men’s doubles SU5.
The 2022 BWF World Tour Finals was the final tournament of the 2022 BWF World Tour. It was scheduled to be held from 14 to 18 December 2022 in Guangzhou, China but was later moved to Bangkok, Thailand, and held a week earlier – from 7 to 11 December 2022 – due to the COVID-19 pandemic in China. It had a total prize of $1,500,000.
