The Romania Billie Jean King Cup team represents Romania in Billie Jean King Cup tennis competition. It is governed by the Federația Română de Tenis and currently competes in the World Group I, the highest level of the competition.
Mariya Koryttseva and Raluca Olaru were the defending champions but Olaru decided not to participate.
Koryttseva played alongside Darija Jurak but lost in the quarterfinals to Gisela Dulko and Paola Suárez.
Sara Errani and Roberta Vinci defeated Lourdes Domínguez Lino and Arantxa Parra Santonja 6–2, 6–1 in the final to win the title.

The 2021 WTA Romanian Open, known as the Winners Open due to sponsorship reasons, was a professional women's tennis tournament played on outdoor clay courts at the Winners Sports Club. It was the 1st edition of the tournament held in the city of Cluj-Napoca and was a part of the 2021 WTA Tour.
Veronika Kudermetova and Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova defeated reigning champion Giuliana Olmos and partner Gabriela Dabrowski in the final, 1–6, 6–4, [10–7] to win the women's doubles tennis title at the 2022 Italian Open.
