North Dakota State University is a public land-grant research university in Fargo, North Dakota. It was founded as North Dakota Agricultural College in 1890 as the state's land-grant university. Dakota State University (DSU) is a public university in Madison, South Dakota, United States. The school was founded in 1881 as a normal school, or teacher training school. Kalen Douglas DeBoer is an American college football coach who is currently the head coach at the University of Alabama. He also served as the head coach at the University of Sioux Falls from 2005 to 2009, Fresno State from 2020 to 2021, and the University of Washington from 2022 to 2023. At Sioux Falls, his teams won three NAIA Football National Championships, in 2006, 2008, and 2009. DeBoer’s record as head coach is 110–14.
Gary M. Buer is an American educator and former football coach. He served as the head football coach at Dakota State University in Madison, South Dakota in 1977 to 1978, Southwest State University—now known as Southwest Minnesota State University—in Marshall, Minnesota from 1979 to 1992, and Southern Virginia University in Buena Vista, Virginia from 2003 to 2006, compiling a career college football coaching record of 92–102–5.
Trojan Field was an American football field located in Madison, South Dakota owned by Dakota State University. It served as the home field for the Dakota State Trojans from 1968 until 2022. The field was located at 1302 N Summit Ave., Madison, SD on the north side of Dakota State University's campus.
The Dakota State Trojans are the athletic teams that represent Dakota State University (DSU), located in Madison, South Dakota. The Trojans compete at the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) level as a member of the North Star Athletic Association. The Dan Beacom Track Complex is a multi-sport facility located at Dakota State University in Madison, South Dakota. The facility is currently home to the Dakota State Trojans track and field teams and will eventually be home to Dakota State's future soccer team. The stadium was also home to Dakota State's football team during the 2023 season while Brian Kern Family Stadium was being built.
