Roger Federer defeated Rafael Nadal in the final, 6–3, 6–4 to win the men's singles tennis title at the 2017 Miami Open. It was Federer's third Miami Open title, 26th Masters 1000 singles title and 91st singles title overall. He saved two match points in the quarterfinals against Tomáš Berdych. This marked the third time Federer won the Sunshine Double, previously accomplishing the feat in 2005 and 2006. It was Nadal's fifth runner-up finish without winning the title.

Nadal saved two match points in his third round match against Denis Shapovalov en route to the title. This was also the fourth time that Nadal had won a tournament on 10 or more occasions, making him the only tennis player with the feat.

Sebastián Báez defeated Frances Tiafoe in the final, 6–3, 6–2 to win the singles tennis title at the 2022 Estoril Open. It was his maiden ATP Tour title.
