Novak Djokovic defeated Roger Federer in the final, 3–6, 6–3, 7–6(7–3) to win the men's singles tennis title at the 2014 Indian Wells Masters. It was his third Indian Wells title.
Alexander Zverev defeated Dominic Thiem in the final, 6–4, 6–4 to win the men's singles tennis title at the 2018 Madrid Open. He did not lose a set en route to the title, and did not have his serve broken throughout the entire tournament.

Rafael Nadal defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas in the final, 6–2, 7–6(7–4) to win the men's singles tennis title at the 2018 Rogers Cup. It was his fourth Canadian Open title. Alexander Zverev was the defending champion, but lost in the quarterfinals to Tsitsipas; Tsitsipas beat four top 10-ranked players en route to the final.
Dominic Thiem defeated Roger Federer in the final, 3–6, 6–3, 7–5 to win the men's singles tennis title at the 2019 Indian Wells Masters. It was his maiden ATP Tour Masters 1000 title, and he became the first Austrian to win a Masters title since Thomas Muster won the 1997 Miami Open.
Roger Federer defeated the defending champion John Isner in the final, 6–1, 6–4 to win the men's singles tennis title at the 2019 Miami Open. It was Federer's fourth Miami Open title, his 28th and final Masters singles title, and his 101st career singles title overall.
Sebastian Ofner was the defending champion but lost in the third round to Aleksandar Vukic.

Defending champion Novak Djokovic defeated Dominic Thiem in the final, 6–4, 4–6, 2–6, 6–3, 6–4 to win the men's singles tennis title at the 2020 Australian Open. It was his record-extending eighth Australian Open title and 17th major title overall. With the win, Djokovic regained the world No. 1 singles ranking, and became the first player since Ken Rosewall to win major titles in three different decades, and the first to do so in the Open Era. The match also marked the first time Djokovic came back to win a major final after trailing two sets to one, having lost each of the last seven times this happened. Thiem became the first Austrian to reach the final. This was Thiem's third runner-up finish in as many major finals. The final also marked the first time in the Open Era that three consecutive men's major finals went to five-sets, following the finals at the 2019 Wimbledon Championships and the 2019 US Open.
Andy Murray was the defending champion, but this year he decided to participate in the Cologne event instead, where he later withdrew due to hip injury.
Jannik Sinner defeated Vasek Pospisil in the final, 6–4, 3–6, 7–6(7–3) to win the singles tennis title at the 2020 Sofia Open. It was his first ATP Tour title.
Aslan Karatsev won his first ATP Tour singles title, defeating Lloyd Harris in the final, 6–3, 6–2 to win the men's singles tennis title at the 2021 Dubai Tennis Championships. Karatsev became the second wildcard in the tournament's history to win the men's singles title. Harris was the first qualifier to reach the final of the Dubai Tennis Championships.
Matteo Berrettini defeated Cameron Norrie in the final, 6–4, 6–7(5–7), 6–3, to win the singles tennis title at the 2021 Queen's Club Championships. Berrettini's win earned him his fourth career ATP Tour singles title, his first ATP 500 victory, and also made him the first player to win the tournament on their main draw debut since Boris Becker in 1985. Norrie was contesting for his first title in his fourth career final.
Alex de Minaur defeated Lorenzo Sonego in the final, 4–6, 6–4, 7–6(7–5), to win the men's singles tennis title at the 2021 Eastbourne International. It was De Minaur's fifth career ATP Tour singles title and his first on grass. Sonego was contesting in his second grass final to win his third career title.
Alex de Minaur was the reigning champion from when the tournament was last held in 2019, but chose not to participate this year.
Jannik Sinner defeated Mackenzie McDonald in the final, 7–5, 4–6, 7–5 to win the singles tennis title at the 2021 Citi Open. With the victory, Sinner became the youngest player and first teenager on the ATP Tour to win an ATP 500 title since the category was created in 2009.
Cameron Norrie defeated Nikoloz Basilashvili in the final, 3–6, 6–4, 6–1 to win the men's singles tennis title at the 2021 Indian Wells Masters. It was his first ATP Tour Masters 1000 title, and he became the first Briton to win the title. Basilashvili became the first Georgian to reach a Masters-level final since Alex Metreveli in 1968, and the first to do so while representing Georgia as an independent nation.
Aslan Karatsev defeated Andy Murray in the final, 6–3, 6–3 to win the men's singles title at the 2022 Sydney Tennis Classic. This was Murray's first ATP final since he won the 2019 European Open.
Taylor Fritz defeated Aleksandar Vukic in the final, 7–5, 6–7(5–7), 6–4 to win the singles tennis title at the 2023 Atlanta Open. It was his sixth ATP Tour singles title.
Hubert Hurkacz defeated Andrey Rublev in the final, 6–3, 3–6, 7–6(10–8) to win the singles tennis title at the 2023 Shanghai Masters. He saved a championship point en route to his second Masters 1000 singles title. After his win in the second round, Zhang Zhizhen became the first Chinese man to reach the third and fourth rounds at Shanghai. He lost to eventual champion Hurkacz in three sets.
