Alicja Rosolska and Abigail Spears were the defending champions, [1] but Spears chose not to participate this year. Rosolska played alongside Yang Zhaoxuan, but lost in the first round to Alexa Guarachi and Erin Routliffe.

Desirae Krawczyk and Giuliana Olmos won the title, defeating Ellen Perez and Arina Rodionova in the final, 7–6(7–5), 7–5. [2]

The first round, two quarterfinals and one semifinal were played on indoor hard courts after rain persisted through the first four days (and part of the fifth and sixth days) of the tournament.

This was the first edition of the tournament. Andrea Hlaváčková and Galina Voskoboeva won the title beating polish pair Klaudia Jans and Alicja Rosolska 3–6, 6–0, [10–5] in the final.

The 2012 Korea Open doubles was a women's professional tennis tournament played on hard courts in Seoul, South Korea.

Zhang Kailin and Zheng Saisai were the defending champions, however Zheng chose not to participate. Zhang was scheduled to partner Han Xinyun, but withdrew before the tournament began, after retiring in her first round singles match due to injury.

Tímea Babos and Kristina Mladenovic won the women's doubles tennis title at the 2018 Australian Open, defeating Ekaterina Makarova and Elena Vesnina in the final, 6–4, 6–3. It was the first Grand Slam title for Babos, who became the first Hungarian player to win a Grand Slam event since Andrea Temesvári in the 1986 French Open and the second Grand Slam title for Mladenovic.

Ashleigh Barty and CoCo Vandeweghe defeated Tímea Babos and Kristina Mladenovic in the final, 3–6, 7–6(7–2), 7–6(8–6) to win the women's doubles tennis title at the 2018 US Open. They saved three championship points en route to the title.

Abigail Spears and Katarina Srebotnik were the defending champions, but chose not to compete together. Spears played alongside Alicja Rosolska, but lost in the first round to Mihaela Buzărnescu and Alizé Cornet. Srebotnik teamed up with Shuko Aoyama, but lost in the first round to Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and Olga Savchuk.

Anna Kalinskaya and Caty McNally defeated Alicja Rosolska and Erin Routliffe in the final, 6–3, 6–7(5–7), [10–4] to win the doubles tennis title at the 2022 St. Petersburg Ladies' Trophy.

Laura Siegemund and Vera Zvonareva defeated Veronika Kudermetova and Elise Mertens in the final, 7–6(7–3), 7–5 to win the women's doubles title at the 2022 Miami Open.

Defending champions Barbora Krejčíková and Kateřina Siniaková defeated Shuko Aoyama and Ena Shibahara in the final, 6–4, 6–3 to win the women's doubles tennis title at the 2023 Australian Open. It was their second Australian Open title and seventh major title together, and they extended their winning streak at the majors to 24 matches with the win, dating back to the 2022 Australian Open.
