The 2019 UCI World Tour was a series of races that included thirty-eight road cycling events throughout the 2019 men's cycling season. [1] It was the first time since the World Tour was launched by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) in 2009 that it was not a ranking competition in its own right. The tour started with the opening stage of the Tour Down Under on 15 January and concluded with the final stage of the Tour of Guangxi on 22 October. [1] [2]
The 2019 calendar was initially announced in June 2018, [1] with the Abu Dhabi Tour being replaced with the UAE Tour, following its merger with the Dubai Tour. In September 2018, the Three Days of Bruges–De Panne was promoted to World Tour level, [3] having been a 1.HC-categorised race in 2018. In November 2018, the Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey was announced to be moving back to April, [2] after the two most recent editions were held in October.
The Three Days of De Panne or Three Days of Bruges–De Panne is a road cycling race in Belgium in late March. Since 2018 it is raced over two days with a men's race on Wednesday and a women's race on Thursday. Both races start in Bruges and finish in the seaside resort of De Panne.
Stijn Devolder is a Belgian former professional road bicycle racer, who competed professionally for Vlaanderen–T Interim (2002–2003), Discovery Channel (2004–2007), Quick-Step (2008–2010), Vacansoleil–DCM (2011–2012), Trek–Segafredo (2013–2016), Vérandas Willems–Crelan (2017–2018) and Corendon–Circus (2019).
Maciej Bodnar is a Polish professional road racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam Bora–Hansgrohe. He is the brother of fellow racing cyclist Łukasz Bodnar.

The UCI WorldTour is the premier men's elite road cycling tour, sitting above the various regional UCI Continental Circuits. It refers to both the tour of 38 events and, until 2019, an annual ranking system based upon performances in these. The World Ranking was launched in 2009, and merged fully with its predecessor the UCI ProTour in 2011. UCI WorldTeams must compete at all events that were part of the tour prior to the 2017 expansion.
Alexander Kristoff is a Norwegian professional road bicycle racer, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam UAE Team Emirates. He won the Norwegian National Road Race Championships in 2007 and 2011. His biggest victories have been the 2014 Milan–San Remo and the 2015 Tour of Flanders among many other successes.

Elia Viviani is an Italian professional cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam Cofidis. On 10 May 2015, Viviani won his first Grand Tour stage victory at the Giro d'Italia, winning stage 2 in a bunch sprint before Moreno Hofland and André Greipel. In August 2016 Viviani won gold in the omnium at the 2016 Summer Olympics. Viviani's nickname in the peloton is "Il Veggente" for his ability to foresee line moves of other sprinters during the sprint.
Marcel Kittel is a German former racing cyclist, who rode professionally between 2011 and 2019 for the Team Giant–Alpecin, Quick-Step Floors and Team Katusha–Alpecin squads. As a junior, he specialised in time trials, even winning a bronze medal in the World Championships for cyclists aged under 23. When he became a professional in 2011, he specialised in bunch sprints, winning 19 stages across the three Grand Tours, and taking 89 wins in his professional career.

Jeanne Korevaar is a Dutch professional racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam Liv Racing. She is the younger sister of the cyclist Merijn Korevaar.

The 2018 Three Days of De Panne was the 42nd edition of the Three Days of De Panne cycle race. The race took place on 21 March 2018, between Bruges and De Panne. It was part of the 2018 UCI Europe Tour calendar in category 1.HC. The race was won by Elia Viviani.
The 2019 Three Days of Bruges–De Panne was a road cycling one-day race that took place on 27 March 2019 in Belgium. It was the 43rd edition of the Three Days of Bruges–De Panne and the tenth event of the 2019 UCI World Tour. It was won in the sprint by Dylan Groenewegen.

However, some of races were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The tour started with the opening stage of the Tour Down Under on 21 January, and concluded with the final stage of the Vuelta a España on 8 November.
The 2020 UCI Women's World Tour was a competition that initially included twenty-one road cycling events throughout the 2020 women's cycling season. It was the fifth edition of the ranking system launched by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) in 2016. The competition began with the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race Women on 1 February. The schedule was extensively affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, which resulted in two-thirds of the races on the calendar being either postponed or cancelled outright. As a result, the season was extended until 8 November, when the final stage of the Ceratizit Challenge by la Vuelta took place.
The 2020 Three Days of Bruges–De Panne is a road cycling one-day race that took place on 21 October 2020 in Belgium. It was the 44th edition of the Three Days of Bruges–De Panne, and the 22nd event of the 2020 UCI World Tour.
The third running of the women's event of the Three Days of Bruges–De Panne, also called Lotto Women Classic Bruges–De Panne, was held on 20 October 2020. It was the tenth race of the rescheduled 2020 UCI Women's World Tour.
