Albanology

Albanology is an interdisciplinary branch of the humanities that addresses the language, costume, literature, art, culture and history of Albanians. Within the studies the scientific methods of literature, linguistics, archeology, history and culture are used. However the Albanian language is the main point of research of the studies.

Tupale Village in Jablanica District, Serbia

Tupale is a village in Serbia. It is located in the Medveđa municipality, in the Jablanica District. According to the 2002 census, the town had a population of 725. Of these, 723 (99,72 %) were ethnic Albanians, and 2 (0,27 %) others.

Kajan is a village and a former municipality in the Elbasan County, central Albania. At the 2015 local government reform it became a subdivision of the municipality Belsh. The Battle of Glođane was fought during the Kosovo War in the village of Glođane first on March 24, 1998 and again later on August 11, 1998. It invovled the Kosovo Albanian militant group known as the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) and the Yugoslav military and Serbian police forces. The clashes represented a series of military offensives launched by the Yugoslav army and Serbian police to address a growing KLA presence within Kosovo Albanian villages.

Academy of Sciences of Albania Scientific institution

The Academy of Sciences of Albania, founded in 1972, is the most important scientific institution in Albania. In the 1980s, several research institutes began at the University of Tirana were transferred to the Academy's jurisdiction. The institution includes the most distinguished scientists, also called "academics", that are involved in research centers and other organisations inside and outside Albania. As of 2009, the Academy had 23 regular members, 10 associated members, one permanent member, and 26 honor members.

Ninac was a figure who served in the court of the Albanian lord Skanderbeg between 1450-59. He was involved in writing and delivering correspondence in Slavic to the Republic of Ragusa in modern-day Croatia. He collaborated with Skanderbeg's diplomat in Ragusa Pal Gazulli and at least in one occasion they were involved in the transfer of funds from Ragusa to Skanderbeg.

Idriz Ajeti Albanian linguist

Idriz Ajeti was an Albanologist from Kosovo and one of the main researchers and authorities on the Albanian language studies of post World War II. He was involved for a long period in the academic life of the University of Pristina, and was a member of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Kosovo, being its chairman for seven years.
