The 2019-20 Colorado College Tigers men's ice hockey season was the 80th season of play for the program and the 7th in the NCHC conference. The Tigers represented Colorado College and were coached by Mike Haviland, in his 6th season.
On March 12, 2020, NCHC announced that the tournament was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic, before any games were played. [1]

Jaccob Scott Slavin is an American professional ice hockey defenseman and alternate captain of the Carolina Hurricanes of the National Hockey League (NHL). Slavin was selected by the Hurricanes in the fourth round, 120th overall, of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.
The 2016–17 Denver Pioneers men's ice hockey team represented University of Denver in intercollegiate college ice hockey during the 2016–17 NCAA Division I men's ice hockey season. The head coach was Jim Montgomery and the team captain was Will Butcher. The team won the 2017 NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey Tournament. The team's leading scorer was Troy Terry.
The 2019–20 NCAA Division I men's ice hockey season began on October 5, 2019 and was intended to conclude with the Frozen Four in April 2020. This would have been the 73rd season in which an NCAA ice hockey championship was held, and was US college hockey's 126th year overall. However, the postseason tournament was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 2019-20 Princeton Tigers Men's ice hockey season was the 118th season of play for the program and the 59th season in the ECAC Hockey conference. The Tigers represented the Princeton University and played their home games at the Hobey Baker Memorial Rink, and were coached by Ron Fogarty, in his 6th season.
The 2019-20 RIT Tigers men's ice hockey season was the 56th season of play for the program, the 15th at the Division I level, and the 14th season in the Atlantic Hockey conference. The Tigers represented the Rochester Institute of Technology and were coached by Wayne Wilson, in his 21st season.

The 2020-21 North Dakota Fighting Hawks men's ice hockey season was the 79th season of play for the program and the 8th in the NCHC conference. The Fighting Hawks represented the University of North Dakota and were coached by Brad Berry, in his 6th season. The first ten regular season games were played in a "pod" in Omaha, Nebraska at Baxter Arena during the COVID-19 pandemic. North Dakota won its 4th Penrose Cup as regular season champions of the NCHC. UND won the NCHC tournament for the first time in program history.

The start of the season was delayed until December 1, 2020 and concluded on April 10, 2021. St. Cloud State made its first championship appearance, finishing as the national runner-up.
