The Friars qualified for the Hockey East championship game, losing to the top-ranked Northeastern Huskies. Earning an at-large selection for the 2021 NCAA National Collegiate Women's Ice Hockey Tournament, the Friars were ranked as the #7 seed. [1]

The New Hampshire Wildcats represent the University of New Hampshire. They have won five ECAC championships between 1986 and 1996. When the Wildcats joined Hockey East, they won four Hockey East titles from 2006 to 2009. The Wildcats have more wins than any other women's ice hockey program at 668 in its first 32 years. The Wildcats went undefeated in their initial 74 games (73-0-1) spanning the 1978 through 1982 seasons. A UNH goaltender has been declared Hockey East Goaltending Champion in the first six years of the league's existence. From 2007 to 2009, UNH hosted NCAA Tournament Regional home games.
The Providence Friars women's ice hockey team is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I college ice hockey program that represents the Providence College. The Friars are a member of Hockey East. They play at the 3,030-seat Schneider Arena in Providence, Rhode Island.
The UConn Huskies women's ice hockey team is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I college ice hockey program that represents the University of Connecticut. The Huskies compete in the Hockey East conference. The Huskies play in the Toscano Family Ice Forum.
The Boston University Terriers women's hockey team will represent Boston University in the 2010–11 NCAA Division I women's ice hockey season. The Terriers are coached by Brian Durocher and they were the first team in Hockey East to qualify for the NCAA Frozen Four championship game. In addition, Catherine Ward became the first Terriers player to be recognized as an All-American selection. Ward also set a program single-season record for most assists in one season with 27.
Geneviève Lacasse is a Canadian retired ice hockey goaltender who last played for the Montréal section of the Professional Women's Hockey Players Association (PWHPA). She is also a former member of the Canada women's national ice hockey team with whom she has won gold medals at both the Olympic Games and IIHF World Championships. In the Canadian Women's Hockey League (CWHL), she is a two-time Clarkson Cup winner. Lacasse was born in Montreal, Quebec.
The Merrimack Warriors women's ice hockey team is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I women's college ice hockey program. The Warriors are a new member of Hockey East. They play at the 2,549-seat J. Thom Lawler Arena in North Andover, Massachusetts.

Jonathan "Jack" Dugan is an American professional ice hockey winger who is currently playing for the Fort Wayne Komets of the ECHL.
Christina Putigna is a Canadian ice hockey forward, who most recently played for the Boston Pride of the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF). She currently holds the record for most points scored by a Canadian player in a single PHF season. Putigna was named the scoring PHF scoring leader in 2020/21. With the Pride she won back to back Isobel Cup Championships in 2020-2021 and 2021-2022.
Jacob Bryson is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman for the Buffalo Sabres of the National Hockey League (NHL). He played four seasons for Providence College, during which he served as team co-captain and was named to the Hockey East First Team Hockey All-Star and American Hockey Coaches Association Second-Team All-American.
The Northeastern Huskies represented Northeastern University in the Women's Hockey East Association during the 2020–21 NCAA Division I women's ice hockey season. In addition to capturing the regular season title, the Huskies defeated the Providence Friars by a 6–2 mark to win the Hockey East postseason tournament.

Sandra Abstreiter is German ice hockey goaltender and member of the German national team, currently playing in the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) with PWHL Ottawa.
The 2021–22 UMass Minutemen ice hockey season was the 90th season of play for the program. They represented the University of Massachusetts Amherst in the 2021–22 NCAA Division I men's ice hockey season and for the 28th season in the Hockey East conference. The Minutemen were coached by Greg Carvel, in his sixth season, and played their home games at Mullins Center.
