Nadiia Kichenok and Sania Mirza won the title, defeating Peng Shuai and Zhang Shuai in the final, 6–4, 6–4. This was Mirza's first tournament since 2017 after maternity leave.

Dabrowski played alongside Mate Pavić, but lost to Latisha Chan and Ivan Dodig in the final, 6–1, 6–7(5–7), [10–8].

Women's doubles were played at the 2019 Dubai Tennis Championships at the Aviation Club Tennis Centre in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The women's tournament took place from 17 to 23 February. Chan Hao-ching and Yang Zhaoxuan were the defending champions, but chose to participate with different partners. Chan played alongside her sister Latisha, but they lost in the semifinals to Hsieh Su-wei and Barbora Strýcová. Yang partnered Abigail Spears, but lost in the first round to Eugenie Bouchard and Sofia Kenin.
Elise Mertens and Aryna Sabalenka defeated Barbora Krejčíková and Kateřina Siniaková in the final, 6–3, 6–2, to win the women's doubles tennis title at the 2019 Indian Wells Masters.
Ashleigh Barty and CoCo Vandeweghe were the defending champions, but Vandeweghe could not participate due to injury. Barty played alongside Victoria Azarenka, but lost in the semifinals to Elise Mertens and Aryna Sabalenka.

Gabriela Dabrowski and Xu Yifan were the defending champions, but lost in the first round to Simona Halep and Raluca Olaru.
Tímea Babos and Kristina Mladenovic defeated Hsieh Su-wei and Barbora Strýcová in the final, 6–2, 6–1 to win the women's doubles tennis title at the 2020 Australian Open. It was their second Australian Open title together. Despite the loss, Hsieh regained the WTA no. 1 doubles ranking for the first time since 2014, replacing her partner Strýcová. Mladenovic, Aryna Sabalenka and Xu Yifan were also in contention for the top ranking.
The Gippsland Trophy is a new addition to the WTA Tour in 2021.
Nicole Melichar and Demi Schuurs were the defending champions but Schuurs chose not to participate. Melichar played alongside Vivian Heisen, but they lost in the semifinals to Alexa Guarachi and Desirae Krawczyk.
Neal Skupski and Desirae Krawczyk defeated Joe Salisbury and Harriet Dart in the final, 6–2, 7–6(7–1), to win the mixed doubles tennis title at the 2021 Wimbledon Championships. It was Krawczyk's second consecutive major title in mixed doubles, following her success at the French Open.
Květa Peschke and Demi Schuurs were the defending champions, but chose to compete with different partners. Peschke partnered Ellen Perez, and Schuurs partnered Nicole Melichar. Both teams lost to Samantha Stosur and Zhang Shuai; Perez and Peschke did so in the second round, whilst Melichar and Schuurs lost in the quarterfinals.
