Cocciaretto made her debut for the Italy Fed Cup team in 2018. She was a member of the Italian squad which won the 2024 Billie Jean King Cup.

Sofia Kenin defeated Garbiñe Muguruza in the final, 4–6, 6–2, 6–2 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2020 Australian Open. It was her first major title. Kenin was the youngest Australian Open finalist since Ana Ivanovic and the youngest champion since Maria Sharapova, both in 2008. This was the first Australian Open final in the Open Era to be contested between two players ranked outside the top ten, and the first such major final since the 2018 US Open. Kenin entered the top 10 in rankings for the first time by winning the title.

Garbiñe Muguruza was the two-time defending champion, but chose not to participate.

Cornelia Lister and Renata Voráčová were the defending champions, but they chose not to participate.

Veronika Kudermetova was the defending champion from 2019, when the tournament was last held as a WTA 125K series event, but she chose to compete in Dubai instead.

Defending champion Ashleigh Barty won the women's singles tennis title at the 2021 Miami Open after Bianca Andreescu retired from the final with the scoreline at 6–3, 4–0. Barty saved a match point en route to the title, in the second round against Kristína Kučová.

Ana Konjuh was the defending champion but chose to compete in Madrid instead.

Iga Świątek defeated Karolína Plíšková in the final, 6–0, 6–0 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2021 Italian Open. It was her first WTA 1000 singles title, and the 13 points Świątek lost in the championship match is the fewest on record in a WTA 1000-level final. This was the first WTA Tour singles final to be resolved with a 'double bagel' scoreline since Simona Halep defeated Anastasija Sevastova at the 2016 Bucharest Open, and was just the tenth such final in WTA Tour history. With the win, Świątek broke into the top 10 of the WTA rankings for the first time. Both finalists saved match points in prior rounds – Świątek saved two match points in her third round match against Barbora Krejčíková, whilst Plíšková saved three match points in her quarterfinal match against Jeļena Ostapenko.

Paula Badosa defeated Victoria Azarenka in the final, 7–6(7–5), 2–6, 7–6(7–2) to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2021 Indian Wells Masters. At three hours and four minutes, the final was the longest-ever Indian Wells women's final. Badosa became the first Spanish woman to win the title. This was her first WTA 1000 title and second career WTA Tour singles title. Azarenka was aiming to become the first woman to win the title three times.

Iga Świątek defeated Anett Kontaveit in the final, 6–2, 6–0 to win the singles title at the 2022 WTA Qatar Open. This tournament marked the beginning of an eventual 37-match and six-title winning streak by Świątek.

The 2020 TK Sparta Prague Open was a professional tennis tournament played on outdoor clay courts. It was part of the 2020 WTA 125K series. It took place in Prague, Czech Republic between 29 August – 6 September 2020.

Defending champion Iga Świątek defeated Ons Jabeur in the final, 6–2, 6–2 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2022 Italian Open. She did not drop a set during the tournament, and was the first player to win the title in Rome without dropping a set since Serena Williams in 2016. This was Świątek's fifth consecutive WTA Tour title, and she became the first player to win four WTA 1000 titles in a single season since Serena Williams in 2013. With the win, Świątek extended her winning streak to 28 matches – the longest on the WTA Tour since Serena Williams won 34 consecutive matches in 2013. This was also the first time in her professional career that Świątek defended a title. Jabeur was attempting to be the first player since Serena Williams in 2013 to win consecutive titles in Madrid and Rome; she reached the final after saving a match point in her semifinal match against Daria Kasatkina.

Martina Trevisan was the defending champion but chose not to participate.

It was her first US Open title, third major title overall and second of the season, making Świątek the first player since Angelique Kerber in 2016 to win multiple majors in a season. Świątek became the first Polish woman in the Open Era to reach the US Open quarterfinals and beyond. Świątek also became the youngest woman to win three majors since Maria Sharapova in 2008.

Jessica Pegula defeated Maria Sakkari in the final, 6–2, 6–3 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2022 Guadalajara Open. Pegula defeated four major champions in succession en route to her first WTA 1000 title, and she saved three match points en route, in her second-round match against Elena Rybakina.

This was the first edition of the tournament as a WTA 125 tournament.

Sara Sorribes Tormo defeated Ekaterina Alexandrova in the final, 3–6, 6–4, 6–4 to win the singles title at the 2023 Tennis in the Land. She won the title as a lucky loser, becoming just the sixth player in WTA Tour history to do so and the third within a five-week span.

Jasmine Paolini defeated Anna Kalinskaya in the final, 4–6, 7–5, 7–5 to win the women's singles title at the 2024 Dubai Tennis Championships. It was her first WTA 1000 title and second WTA Tour singles title overall. Paolini avenged her loss to Kalinskaya at the Australian Open, where both players had progressed to the second week of a major for the first time. Kalinskaya was the second qualifier to contest a WTA 1000 final, following Caroline Garcia at the 2022 Cincinnati Open.
