Tamara Zidanšek is a Slovenian tennis player. She has career-high WTA rankings of No. 22 in singles and No. 47 in doubles, and as of June 2021 is the current number-one Slovene tennis player in singles. She has won one singles title and four doubles titles on the WTA Tour and two WTA Challenger singles titles, as well as 17 singles and four doubles titles on the ITF Circuit. On the ITF Junior Circuit, she was in top 20 and had a career-high ranking of No. 16, achieved in December 2015. Playing for the Slovenia Fed Cup team, she has a win–loss record of 9–8.

The 2021 Abu Dhabi Women's Tennis Open was a women's tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts. It was the inaugural professional edition of the event and a WTA 500 tournament on the 2021 WTA Tour. It took place at the Zayed Sports City International Tennis Centre in Abu Dhabi, from 6 to 13 January 2021.
This was a new tournament in 2021.
María Camila Osorio Serrano defeated Tamara Zidanšek in the final, 5–7, 6–3, 6–4, to win the singles tennis title at the 2021 Copa Colsanitas. It was the Colombian teenage wildcard's first career Women's Tennis Association (WTA) singles title. Ranked No. 180, Osorio Serrano became the lowest-ranked WTA title holder since world No. 299 Margarita Gasparyan at the 2018 Tashkent Open. Zidanšek was also in contention for her first WTA title.
The 2021 Ladies Open Lausanne was a women's tennis tournament played on outdoor clay courts. It was the 28th edition of the Ladies Open Lausanne, and part of the 250 category of the 2021 WTA Tour. It took place at Tennis Club Stade-Lausanne in Lausanne, Switzerland, from 12 through 18 July 2021.
Kim Clijsters was the defending champion, having won the previous edition in 2002, but chose not to participate.
Anastasia Potapova and Yana Sizikova were the defending champions, but they decided not to participate this year.
Anna Chakvetadze was the champion when the event was last held in 2010, but she retired from professional tennis in 2013.

Iga Świątek defeated Maria Sakkari in the final, 6–4, 6–1 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2022 Indian Wells Masters. She became the first Pole to win the title.
Tatjana Maria defeated Laura Pigossi in the final, 6–3, 4–6, 6–2 to win the singles tennis title at the 2022 Copa Colsanitas. It was her second WTA Tour singles title, her first since 2018, and made her the first mother-of-two WTA Tour title holder in the 21st century. Ranked as the world No. 237, Maria also became the lowest-ranked player to win a WTA Tour title since Margarita Gasparyan in 2018. This was the first WTA Tour final contested between two qualifiers since the 2021 Lyon Open, and the first WTA Tour final contested by players ranked outside the top 200 since the inception of the computer rankings.
Clara Burel was the defending champion but chose to participate at the 2022 Karlsruhe Open instead.
Ekaterina Alexandrova defeated Aryna Sabalenka in the final, 7–5, 6–0 to win the women's singles title at the 2022 Rosmalen Grass Court Championships. It was her second WTA Tour singles title, and Alexandrova won the title despite being two points from defeat in the first round.
Petra Martić defeated Olga Danilović in the final, 6–4, 6–2 to win the singles tennis title at the 2022 Ladies Open Lausanne. It was Martić's first WTA title since Istanbul in 2019.
Olga Danilović and Kristina Mladenovic won the doubles tennis title at the 2022 Ladies Open Lausanne after Ulrikke Eikeri and Tamara Zidanšek withdrew from the final.
Heather Watson was the defending champion from when the tournament was last held in 2019 as part of the ITF Women's World Tennis Tour, but lost in the second round to Chloé Paquet.
Daria Kasatkina defeated Daria Saville in the final, 6–4, 6–4 to win the singles tennis title at the 2022 Championnats de Granby.
Ekaterina Alexandrova defeated Jeļena Ostapenko in the final, 7–6(7–4), 6–0 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2022 Korea Open.
Anna Blinkova defeated Jasmine Paolini in the final, 6–2, 3–6, 6–2 to win the singles tennis title at the 2022 Transylvania Open. It was her maiden WTA Tour singles title, and she won it as a qualifier.
