Daytona International Speedway is one of six superspeedways to hold NASCAR races, the others being Michigan International Speedway, Auto Club Speedway, Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Pocono Raceway and Talladega Superspeedway. The standard track at Daytona International Speedway is a four–turn superspeedway that is 2.5-mile (4.0 km) long. The track's turns are banked at 31 degrees, while the front stretch, the location of the finish line, is banked at 18 degrees.

Mainly uneventful, Kyle Larson led through lap 34, when the Fords took charge after green flag stops, leading the remainder of the event. With inside of five to go, Brad Keselowski took the lead from Ryan Blaney and went on to in. Kaz Grala made a final lap pass on J.J. Yeley to make the Daytona 500.

Duel 2

Also somewhat uneventful, Denny Hamlin spun on pit road while trying to make a green-flag pit stop on lap 27. On the final lap, Joey Logano tried to made a block on the inside on Chris Buescher, but spun himself out and collected Harrison Burton. The only caution of either duel was displayed and Chris Buescher took the win over Michael McDowell, with RFK Racing sweeping the duels. Greg Biffle made the Daytona 500 over Timmy Hill.

2022 NASCAR Cup Series 74th season of NASCAR Cup Series racing

The 2022 NASCAR Cup Series is the 74th season for NASCAR professional stock car racing in the United States and the 51st season for the modern-era Cup Series. The season started at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on February 6 with the Busch Light Clash at The Coliseum. That race was followed by the Bluegreen Vacations Duel qualifying races on February 17 and the 64th running of the Daytona 500, the first points race of the season, at Daytona International Speedway on February 20. The regular season will end with the Coke Zero Sugar 400, also at Daytona, on August 27. The NASCAR playoffs will begin with the Cook Out Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway on September 4 and will end with the NASCAR Cup Series Championship Race at Phoenix Raceway on November 6. This season marks the debut of the Next Gen Car, which was originally supposed to debut in 2021, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, this is the first season to have races covered by USA Network, which takes over for the now-defunct NBCSN.

Contested over 165 laps -- extended from 160 laps due to an overtime finish, on the 2.5-mile (4.0 km) superspeedway, it was the 26th race of the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series season, and the final race of the regular season before the playoffs.

2021 YellaWood 500 NASCAR Cup Series race

The 2021 YellaWood 500 was a NASCAR Cup Series race held on October 4, 2021, at Talladega Superspeedway in Lincoln, Alabama. Originally scheduled for 188 laps on the 2.66 mi (4.28 km) asphalt superspeedway, the race was shortened to 117 laps by rain. It was the 31st race of the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series season, the fifth race of the Playoffs, and the second race of the Round of 12. The race was postponed from Sunday, October 3 to Monday, October 4, due to rain. Bubba Wallace took his first victory in the NASCAR Cup Series. It was the first time since the development of the 2014 NASCAR Playoffs format that a driver not in either level of playoffs had won a race, and the first non-playoff driver to win a race since the 2013 Talladega playoff race, as well the first win for an African-American driver in the Cup Series since Wendell Scott's win in 1964.

The 2022 Daytona 500 was the first stock car race of the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series and the 64th running of the event. The race was held on Sunday, February 20, 2022, in Daytona Beach, Florida at Daytona International Speedway, a 2.5-mile (4.0 km) asphalt superspeedway. In a green-white-checker finish, Austin Cindric, driving for Team Penske, took the lead with two laps to go and held off challenges from teammate Ryan Blaney, RFK Racing's Brad Keselowski and eventual second-place finisher Bubba Wallace of 23XI Racing to win his first career NASCAR Cup Series win and his first of the season. Chase Briscoe of Stewart-Haas Racing finished third. Team Penske dedicated their Daytona 500 win to legendary sportscaster Bob Jenkins after the race.

2022 WISE Power 400 Second race of the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series

The 2022 WISE Power 400 was the second stock car race of the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series and the 25th running of the event. The race was held on Sunday, in Fontana, California, at Auto Club Speedway, a 2 miles (3.2 km) permanent D-shaped oval racetrack. The race took the scheduled 200 laps to complete. At race's end, Kyle Larson, driving for Hendrick Motorsports, would win a drama-filled race after a controversial block on teammate Chase Elliott within the closing laps of the race had put Elliott in the wall. Larson would defend the field on the final restart to win his 17th career NASCAR Cup Series win and his first of the season. To fill out the podium, Austin Dillon of Richard Childress Racing and Erik Jones of Petty GMS Motorsports would finish second and third, respectively.
