On 6 November 2022, an attack on a police camp in the katcha neighbourhood of Ghotki, Sindh, resulted in the deaths of at least 7 police officials, including a DSP (district superintendent of police) and two SHOs (station head officers). [1]

According to police, bandits attacked a police picket in Rawanti, a katcha area of Ghotki with rocket launchers. In the gun battle, seven cops embraced martyrdom including Abdul Malik Bhutto (DSP) and two SHOs. [2]

The bandits seized possession of 10 police cars while holding 20 police officers hostage at the camp. As a result of the incident, reports claim that Sindh Rangers forces and police officers from around the area have been brought in to conduct operations against the dacoits. [3] [4]

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the leader of the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) and the country's foreign minister, has strongly condemned an attack. [5]

The assassination of Benazir Bhutto took place on 27 December 2007 in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. Benazir Bhutto, the former Prime Minister of Pakistan and then-leader of the opposition party Pakistan People's Party, had been campaigning ahead of elections scheduled for January 2008. Shots were fired at her after a political rally at Liaqat National Bagh, and a suicide bomb was detonated immediately following the shooting. She was declared dead at 18:16 local time, at Rawalpindi General Hospital. Twenty-three other people were killed by the bombing. Bhutto had previously survived a similar attempt on her life that killed at least 180 people, after her return from exile two months earlier. Following the event, the Election Commission of Pakistan postponed the general elections by a month, which saw Bhutto's party win.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is a Pakistani politician who served as the 37th Minister of Foreign Affairs, in office from 27 April 2022 to 10 August 2023. He became the chairman of Pakistan People's Party in 2007, following his mother's assassination. Bilawal belongs to the Bhutto family, a prominent political family of Pakistan and is the son of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto and President Asif Ali Zardari, and the grandson of former President Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. Bilawal had been a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan from 13 August 2018 till 10 August 2023. He re-elected as Member National Assembly of Pakistan in 2024 Pakistani general election from newly formed constituency NA-194 Larkana-I taken oath February 2024.

In 2007, 34 terrorist attacks and clashes, including suicide attacks, killings, and assassinations, resulted in 134 casualties and 245 injuries, according to the PIPS security report. The report states that Pakistan faced 20 suicide attacks during 2007, which killed at least 111, besides injuring another 234 people. The PIPS report shows visible increase in suicide attacks after the siege of Lal Masjid.

In 2008, Pakistan saw 40 terrorist attacks, which caused 154 fatalities and 256 injuries.

Chaudhary Aslam Khan Swati was a Pakistani police officer. From 2005 to 2014 Aslam arrested and killed terrorists, gangwar-criminals, target killers and extortionists belonging to the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), TMP, Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LJ), Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan (SSP). On 9 January 2014, he was killed in a bomb blast carried out by the TTP.

Nazar AliNazroo Narejo was a notorious dacoit in Sindh, Pakistan. He was a symbol of terror for over two decades. He was held responsible and was charged with about 200 cases and was involved in plundering, highway robbery, kidnapping for ransom, murder and other crimes around the areas of Sindh and Punjab. The government announced a PKR 20 million reward for his capture.

The Indian Army base in Nagrota, in Jammu and Kashmir was attacked on 29 November 2016 by a group of militants.

On 23 November 2018, an armed assault on the Chinese consulate in Clifton, Karachi, Pakistan killed four people in an hour-long shootout. Those killed were two policemen, two Pakistani civilians and the three attackers. No Chinese nationals were injured or killed in the attack. The three attackers were also killed.

The 2019 Quetta bombing was a suicide bomb attack on an open marketplace in Quetta, Pakistan on 12 April, killing 21 people. The bombing took place near an area where many minority Shiite Muslims live. At least ten Hazara, including nine Shiites, were among the dead. Two paramilitary soldiers were also killed in the bombing. PM Imran Khan expressed condolences for the lives lost, directed the authorities to ensure the best medical treatment for the injured, and ordered an increase in security for Shiites and Hazara people. Lashkar-e-Jhangvi and ISIL later accepted responsibility for the attack, stating that "their target were Hazara people."

On September 15, 2019, in Ghotki city of Sindh province of Pakistan, a large number of extremist Muslims desecrated three Hindu temples, a private school and attacked shops and houses belonging to the Hindu community over the allegation of blasphemy against the Hindu principal of the Sindh Public School made by a school student. A delegation investigating the attack found that the attacks were pre-planned and had political support.

Focusing primarily on the Kacha area in Shikarpur District, the operation seeks to apprehend robbers and other lawbreakers, ensuring a safer environment for the local population.

The PPP Long March was an anti-government ongoing long march led by Pakistan Peoples Party's Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. The march started from Mazar-e-Quaid in Karachi on Sunday, 27 February 2022 at 10 AM. The march will reach Islamabad in 10 days from Karachi via 34 different cities.

On 16 November 2022, an attack claims the lives of six police officers, including ASI in Lakki Marwat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan.

On 29 March 2023, a terrorist attack occurred on the Saddar Police Station in Lakki Marwat, a city in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. The attack resulted in the killing of four policemen, including Deputy Superintendent (DSP) Iqbal Mohmand, and injuring six other cops. The attack was carried out by militants who fled the scene after the attack, and a search operation was launched to apprehend them.

Maulana Rashid Mehmood Soomro is a Pakistani politician who is currently serving as Secretary General of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) (JUI-F) Sindh. He is also known for his leadership role in the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) in Sindh. He is the son of Khalid Mahmood Soomro.

Bandits of Kutch is a criminal gang active in the riverine belt of Sindh and Punjab, Pakistan. They are known for their violent activities, including kidnapping, extortion and murder. They have turned their operations into various illegal activities and are known to cheat people on the pretext of love or business. Despite several large-scale operations against them, they continue to operate in the southern districts, posing a significant challenge to local authorities. The bandits are reportedly armed with more sophisticated weapons than the local police and have targeted many civilians. Their activities have instilled fear in the local population, and their influence seems to be growing. The Sindh government is actively working to stop their activities, but the former interior minister of Sindh says that unless action is taken against the landowners in Kutch, the dacoits will not be eradicated.
