The 2022 Il Lombardia was a one-day road cycling race that took place on 8 October 2022 in the Italian region of Lombardy. It was the 31st and final event of the 2022 UCI World Tour and was the 116th edition of Il Lombardia. [1]
Twenty-five teams, consisting of 18 UCI WorldTeams and 7 UCI ProTeams, participated in the race. Each team entered seven riders. [2] [3]

UAE Team Emirates is an Emirati road bicycle racing team. The team competes at UCI WorldTeam level and has done so since the UCI World Tour was formed as the top category of road cycling in 2005.
Rafał Majka is a Polish professional road bicycle racer, who rides for UCI WorldTeam UAE Team Emirates. He is known as a strong climber, and rose to prominence at the 2013 Giro d'Italia, where he finished 7th overall, and 6th one year later; he has taken fifteen victories during his professional career.
George Bennett is a New Zealand professional road racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI ProTeam Israel–Premier Tech. He represented New Zealand at the 2016 and 2020 Summer Olympics. He was the winner of the 2017 Tour of California, the 2020 Gran Piemonte and the 2021 New Zealand road cycling championships. He came second in the 2020 Il Lombardia.
Alexey Alexandrovich Lutsenko is a Kazakh professional cyclist, who rides for UCI WorldTeam Astana Qazaqstan Team.
Primož Roglič is a Slovenian professional racing cyclist who rides for UCI WorldTeam Bora–Hansgrohe. He started as a ski jumper and switched to cycling several years after an accident suffered at Planica.

The 2015 Il Lombardia was a one-day cycling classic that took place around Lake Como in Lombardy in northern Italy on 4 October 2015. It was the 109th edition of the Il Lombardia one-day cycling race and was the final cycling monument of the 2015 season, as well as being the final race of the 2015 UCI World Tour. The race was organised by RCS Sport, who also organise the Giro d'Italia.
