The 2022 Prime Minister Cup was the fifth edition of the Prime Minister One Day Cup, the premier one-day cricket tournament in Nepal. The tournament was contested by teams representing the seven Provinces of Nepal as well as three departmental teams. It began on 30 October 2022 and ended on 12 November 2022. [1] Armed Police Force Club won their second title after defeating defending champions Tribhuwan Army Club in the final. [2] [3]

The Nepal men's national cricket team represents the country of Nepal in International cricket and is governed by the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN). They are Associate Member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) since 1996. Nepal were awarded Twenty20 International (T20I) status by the ICC in June 2014 until the 2015 ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier and One Day International (ODI) status from 2018. They are nicknamed as ''The Gorkhali'',"The Cardiac Kids" for their tendency to pickup nail biting victories and "Rhinos" as the emblem of Cricket Association of Nepal contains One horned Rhino; an animal Nepal is popular for.
Nepal Police Club is a sports club owned and managed by the Nepal Police. The club is best known for its football section which competes in the Martyr's Memorial A-Division League, the top flight of Nepali club football.
Cricket is the most popular sport in Nepal. It is played by many people throughout the country, especially in the Terai region. The biggest cricketing achievement of the national cricket team was when the team reached the qualification tournament of 2014 ICC World T20 held in Bangladesh. Nepal's playing season runs from September to November and starts again in March before finishing in May. The National Cricket Academy, NCA, was formally opened in January 2013 by the Cricket Association of Nepal to guide emerging players and to provide continuous training facilities to the men's national team, women's national team and the under-19 team. As of December 2012, there were 429 senior cricket clubs and 227 junior cricket clubs in Nepal.

The 2018 ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier was a cricket tournament that took place during March 2018 in Zimbabwe. It formed the final part of the Cricket World Cup qualification process for the 2019 World Cup in England and Wales. The top two teams, Afghanistan national cricket team and the West Indies, qualified for the World Cup, joining the hosts and the seven teams who had already qualified through their ranking in the ICC ODI Championship. Afghanistan won the tournament, beating the West Indies by 7 wickets in the final. Afghanistan’s Mohommad Shahzad was named the player of the match and Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza was named the player of the tournament.
The 2017 Prime Minister Cup was the first edition of the Prime Minister One Day Cup featuring eight teams. Nepal Police Club and Tribhuwan Army Club were announced as joint winners as the final went to no result due to rain.
The 2023 ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Qualifier was the 12th edition of the Cricket World Cup Qualifier, which took place in June and July 2023 in Zimbabwe. It was the culmination of the 2023 Cricket World Cup qualification process and decided the final two participants for the 2023 Cricket World Cup.

It was formerly administered by the National Sports Council while CAN was suspended. It was played amongst 8 teams in 2017 and is played amongst 10 teams from 2018 onward.

The 2023 Nepal Tri-Nation Series was the 19th round of the 2019–2023 ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 cricket tournament took place in Nepal in February 2023. It was a tri-nation series between the men's national cricket teams of Namibia, Nepal and the Scotland, with the matches being played as One Day International (ODI) fixtures. The ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 formed part of the qualification pathway to the 2023 Cricket World Cup.
The 2020 Manmohan Memorial National One-Day Cricket Tournament was the second edition of one of the main domestic 50-over competitions in Nepal, alongside the Prime Minister One Day Cup. The tournament featured sides representing the seven provinces of Nepal plus three departments, the host club and a Malaysian XI. This was the second edition of the tournament after the first was held in January 2019. The Malaysian national side played a series of one-day matches against Nepal after the conclusion of the tournament.

There are currently eight teams participating in the tournament. The inaugural edition was contested among 10 teams and six teams contested the tournament from 2016 to 2018.

All matches of the tournament were broadcast live by DishHome's "Action Sports" channel. Nepal Police Club were the defending champions, but were eliminated at the semi-final stage by Armed Police Force Club. Tribhuwan Army Club won the title following a 33-run win over APF Club in the final.
Aasif Sheikh is a Nepalese cricketer, who plays as right-handed wicket-keeper batsman. He made his debut for Nepal against Netherlands in April 2021. He wins a ICC spirit cricketer of the year award due to Ireland incident during the ICC T20 World cup qualifiers at Oman in 2022.
Bagmati Province cricket team, also known as Team Bagmati is a Nepali provincial cricket team, based in the Bagmati Province of Nepal. The team plays limited overs and Twenty20 cricket in the Prime Minister One Day Cup and the Gautam Buddha Cup. The team is currently being run under the Cricket Association of Bagmati Province, with Gyanendra Malla as the team captain.
The 2023 ACC Women's T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup was the inaugural edition of the ACC Women's T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup played in Hong Kong in June 2023, with all the matches held at the Mission Road Ground in Kowloon. Eight teams took part in the tournament, including the A teams of four nations with ODI status and the next four top associate teams. The tournament was organized by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC).
The 2023 ACC Men's Premier Cup was a cricket tournament which took place in April and May 2023. It was the inaugural edition of the ACC Men's Premier Cup, and it served as the final stage of qualification for the 2023 Asia Cup tournament. It was held in Nepal, with the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground and Mulpani Cricket Stadium hosting matches. The winner of the tournament qualified for the 2023 Asia Cup. The top three teams including also qualified for the 2023 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup.
