Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) is the official governing body of cricket in Nepal. Its headquarters are situated in Mulpani, Kathmandu. It is Nepal's representative at the International Cricket Council and remains an associate member since 1996 AD. It is also a member of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC).
Bagmati Province is one of the seven provinces of Nepal established by the constitution of Nepal. Bagmati is Nepal's second-most populous province and fifth largest province by area. It borders the Tibet Autonomous Region in Southwest China to the north, Bagmati Province to the east, Karnali Province to the west, and Lumbini Province and Bihar of India to the south. The total area of the province is 21,504 km2 - constituting 14.57% of Nepal's total area. According to the latest census, the population of the province was 2,479,745. The newly elected Provincial Assembly adopted Gandaki Province as the permanent name by replacing its initial name Province No. 4 on 27 April 2023. Surendra Raj Pandey is the present chief minister of Gandaki Province.
The Provincial Assembly of Gandaki Province also known as the Gandaki Province Sabha, is a unicameral governing and law making body of Gandaki Province, one of the seven provinces in Nepal. The assembly is seated at the provincial capital Pokhara in Kaski District at the Urban Development Training Centre. The assembly has 60 members of whom 36 are elected through first-past-the-post voting and 24 of whom are elected through proportional representation. The term of the assembly is five years until dissolved earlier.

The 2021 Prime Minister Cup was the fourth edition of the Prime Minister One Day Cup, the premier one-day cricket tournament in Nepal. The tournament was contested by teams representing the seven Provinces of Nepal as well as three departmental teams. It began on 15 January 2021 and ended on 30 January 2021. All matches of the tournament were broadcast live by DishHome's "Action Sports" channel. Nepal Police Club were the defending champions, but were eliminated at the semi-final stage by Armed Police Force Club. Tribhuwan Army Club won the title following a 33-run win over APF Club in the final.
The Bagmati Province cricket team, also known as Team Bagmati is a Nepali provincial cricket team, based in the Bagmati Province of Nepal. The team plays limited overs one day and Twenty20 cricket in the Prime Minister One Day Cup and the Gautam Buddha Cup, respectively. The team is currently being run under the Cricket Association of Bagmati Province, with Rit Gautam as the team captain.
The first Gandaki Provincial Assembly was elected by the 2017 provincial elections. 60 members were elected to the assembly, 36 of whom were elected through direct elections and 24 of whom were elected through the party list proportional representation system. The term of the assembly started on 4 February 2018 and ended in September 2022. Prithvi Subba Gurung from the CPN (UML) and Krishna Chandra Nepali Pokharel from the Nepali Congress served as chief ministers during the term of the assembly. Netra Nath Adhikari served as the speaker of the assembly and Srijana Sharma served as the deputy speaker.

The Madhesh Province Cricket Team, and also known as Team Madhesh is a Nepali provincial cricket team, based in the Madhesh Province of Nepal. The team plays first-class, limited overs and Twenty20 cricket in the Jay Trophy, Prime Minister One Day Cup and KP Oli Cup respectively. The team is currently being run under the Madhesh Province Cricket Association.
Lumbini Province cricket team, and also known as Team Lumbini is a Nepali provincial cricket team, based in the Lumbini Province of Nepal. The team plays limited overs and 20-over cricket in the Prime Minister One Day Cup. The team is currently being run under the Lumbini Province Cricket Association.
The 2023–24 Prime Minister Cup (Women) was the ninth edition of the Prime Minister Cup Women's National Cricket Tournament, the premier Twenty20 cricket tournament in Nepal. The tournament was contested by teams representing the seven Provinces of Nepal as well as one departmental teams. It began on 21 December 2023 and end on 3 January 2024. The format was changed for the 2023–24 season, with the eight teams competing in a round-robin format with the top four advancing to the play-offs.

The tournament was contest by teams representing the seven Provinces of Nepal as well as three departmental teams. It began on 13 January 2024 and end on 3 February. The tournament will be played in three different venues.

The team plays Twenty20 cricket in the Prime Minister Women's Cup The team is currently being run under the Cricket Association of Bagmati Province, with Asmina Karmacharya as the team captain.
Karnali Province Cricket team, and also known as Team Karnali is a Nepali provincial cricket team, based in the Karnali Province of Nepal. The team plays limited overs and 20-over cricket in the Prime Minister One Day Cup. The team is currently being run under the Karnali Province Cricket Association, with Rabindra Shahi as the team captain.
Madhesh Province women's cricket team, also known as Team Madhesh, is a Nepali provincial cricket team, based in the Madhesh Province of Nepal. The team plays Twenty20 cricket in the Prime Minister Women's Cup. The team is currently being run under the Madhesh Province Cricket Association. This team is currently being led by Kabita Gautam.

Gandaki Thunders is a women's volleyball team from Pokhara, Gandaki Province playing in the Everest Women's Volleyball League in Nepal. The team was founded in 2024 and owned by Saurabh Kedia.

The tournament will be contested by teams representing the seven Provinces of Nepal as well as two departmental teams. It scheduled to began on 14 January and end on 25 January 2025. Tribhuwan Army Club set to make debut in the tournament. Nine teams are divided into two groups with the top two advancing to the Super Four. All the matched will be played at Fapla International Cricket Ground in Dhangadhi.
