It is the home ground of Lumbini Lions in Nepal Premier League.

Tribhuvan University is a public university located in Kirtipur, Kathmandu, Nepal. Established in 1959, TU is the oldest and the largest university in Nepal. It offers 1,000 undergraduate and 500 postgraduate programs across a wide range of disciplines. Rubina Chhetry is a Nepali cricketer who plays for the women's national cricket team as a right-arm medium pace bowler. She is the former captain of the team appointed in 2012, when she replaced Neri Thapa. In 2009, she became the first cricketer to take a hat-trick for Nepal in an international match, and in 2019 she took Nepal's first hat-trick in a Women's Twenty20 International (WT20I).
The Nepal Premier League (NPL) (Nepali: नेपाल प्रिमियर लिग), is a men's Twenty20 (T20) cricket league held annually in Nepal. Founded by the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) in 2024, the league features eight provinces/cities-based franchise teams. The inaugural season was held from 30 November 2024 (15 Mangsir to 6 Poush 2081 BS). The tournament used a round-robin format, with the top teams advancing to the playoffs.

The 2021 Everest Premier League, also known as EPL4 or Bajaj Pulsar EPL for sponsorship reasons, was the fourth edition of the Everest Premier League, a professional men's domestic Twenty20 cricket competition in Nepal. The event was initially scheduled for December 2019, before being postponed multiple times. Lalitpur Patriots were the defending champions, having won their first title in 2018, but were eliminated in the group stage after finishing fifth.
The 2021 Prime Minister Cup was the fourth edition of the Prime Minister One Day Cup, the premier one-day cricket tournament in Nepal. The tournament was contested by teams representing the seven Provinces of Nepal as well as three departmental teams. It began on 15 January 2021 and ended on 30 January 2021. All matches of the tournament were broadcast live by DishHome's "Action Sports" channel. Nepal Police Club were the defending champions, but were eliminated at the semi-final stage by Armed Police Force Club. Tribhuwan Army Club won the title following a 33-run win over APF Club in the final.
Gulsan Jha is a Nepalese cricketer, who plays as a bowler for Nepal national team. He became the third youngest ODI player when he made his ODI debut against the United States at just 15 years and 212 days of age. Aged 18, he became the first player in 53 years of ODI history to take a 5-wicket haul and score a fifty in the same match before the age of 20, and the first Nepali player to achieve this feat in an ODI.
