The 2022 Southeastern Conference baseball season was the baseball season for the Southeastern Conference as part of the 2022 NCAA Division I baseball season. Tennessee and Texas A&M won the East and West Division regular season titles respectively. [1] In the conference tournament, Tennessee defeated Florida 8–5 in the final to be crowned SEC champions. [2]

Regular Season

The Southeastern Conference released the regular season conference schedule on September 15, 2021. The regular season began March 18 and concluded May 21. [3]

The 2022 Southeastern Conference baseball tournament was held from May 24 through May 29 at Hoover Metropolitan Stadium in Hoover, Alabama. [6] Tennessee won the conference tournament for the first time since 1995. [2] [7]

NCAA Tournament

Nine SEC teams were selected for the NCAA tournament, with four being selected as regional hosts. Auburn, Florida, Tennessee, and Texas A&M were national seeds and hosted their respective regionals, while Arkansas, Georgia, LSU, Ole Miss, and Vanderbilt also were selected to the tournament. [8] Six of the nine teams advanced to a regional final, with five advancing to the super regional round. [9] [10]

Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Auburn and Arkansas were four of the eight teams to advance to the 2022 College World Series in Omaha. [11] Ultimately, Ole Miss swept Oklahoma in two games to claim the national championship. [12]

LSU defeated Florida in the championship game, earning the Southeastern Conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. LSU would go on to win the national championship at the College World Series in Omaha, NE, their fifth national championship in 10 seasons.

The 2006 Southeastern Conference baseball tournament was held at Hoover Metropolitan Stadium in Hoover, AL from May 24 through 28. Ole Miss won the tournament and earned the Southeastern Conference's automatic bid to the 2006 NCAA tournament.

The Ole Miss Rebels baseball team represents the University of Mississippi in NCAA Division I college baseball. The team participates in the West Division of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). They are currently coached by Mike Bianco and play at Swayze Field. They have competed in the College World Series six times, with their first national championship coming in 2022.

The Florida Gators were the defending champions, but they were eliminated from the 2017 tournament with a 2–1 overtime loss to the Texas A&M Aggies in the semifinals. Texas A&M won the tournament title with a 2–1 win over the Arkansas Razorbacks in the final. This was the third SEC women's soccer tournament title for Texas A&M, all of which have come under the direction of head coach G Guerrieri.

The LSU Tigers won the tournament title via a penalty kick shootout win over the Arkansas Razorbacks in the final. This was the first SEC women's soccer tournament title for LSU, and the first for coach Brian Lee.

The 2020 SEC women's soccer tournament is the postseason women's soccer tournament for the 2020 Southeastern Conference season. The tournament is being contested over five days between November 13–22 at the Orange Beach Sportsplex in Orange Beach, Alabama. The South Carolina Gamecocks are the defending champions.

The 2021 SEC women's soccer tournament was the postseason women's soccer tournament for the Southeastern Conference held from October 31 to November 7, 2021. The tournament was held at the Orange Beach Sportsplex in Orange Beach, Alabama. The ten-team single elimination tournament consisted of four rounds based on seeding from regular season conference play. The Vanderbilt Commodores are the defending champions. The Commodores were unable to defend their crown, losing to Florida in the First Round. Tennessee won the tournament with a 1–0 victory over Arkansas in the final. The conference championship is the fifth for the Tennessee women's soccer program and the first for head coach Brian Pensky. As tournament champions, Tennessee earned the Southeastern Conference's automatic berth into the 2021 NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Tournament.

The 2022 Ole Miss Rebels baseball team represented the University of Mississippi in the 2022 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Rebels played their home games at Swayze Field. In 2022, the Rebels went from the last team into the field of 64 NCAA tournament to the National Champions. The Rebels began their post-season with a loss in the SEC Tournament to Vanderbilt before they got hot. As the 3 seed in the Miami regional, the Rebels demolished the field, defeating Arizona, the host team Miami, and Arizona again to head to a Super Regional. In the Super Regionals, the Rebels traveled to Hattiesburg, MS where Southern Mississippi played host. In front of record crowds, Ole Miss outscored Southern Miss 15-0 in a two-game routing to head to Omaha for the first time since 2014. In Omaha, the Rebels remained hot, taking down Auburn and SEC foe Arkansas, before losing its first postseason game to Arkansas in a potential elimination game for the Razorbacks. In game three of the series against Arkansas, Rebel pitcher Dylan DeLucia threw a complete-game shutout to push the Rebels to their first College World Series championship game in program history. The Rebels ran through Oklahoma in two games to win the 2022 College World Series and complete their last-to-first run. The team was featured in the 2022 documentary, Belief: The Season Ole Miss Baseball.
