The 2022 World Mixed Doubles Qualification Event was held from December 2 to 7 at the Dumfries Ice Bowl in Dumfries, Scotland.^[1] The top four placing teams (Austria, Spain, Netherlands, Turkey) qualified for the 2023 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship in Gangneung, South Korea.^[2]

A record forty-eight nations competed in the event, including Kosovo, Mexico, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, and Ukraine competing in their first World Curling Federation events.

The 2019 World Mixed Doubles Qualification Event was held December 2–7, 2019 at the Greenacres Curling Club in Howwood, Scotland. It was the inaugural qualification event for the World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship, which was previously an open entry event.

The 2021 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship was held from May 17 to 23 in Aberdeen, Scotland.

The 2021 Korean Curling Championships, Korea's national curling championships, were held from June 23 to July 3 at the Gangneung Curling Centre in Gangneung, South Korea. The winning teams on both the men's and women's sides became the Korean National Teams for the 2021–22 curling season. They represented Korea at the 2021 Pacific-Asia Curling Championships, 2022 World Women's Curling Championship, 2022 World Men's Curling Championship and the Olympic Qualification Event in attempts to reach the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, China. The mixed doubles curling tournament of the 2022 Winter Olympics was held at the Beijing National Aquatics Center from 2 to 8 February 2022. Eve Muirhead and Bobby Lammie of Scotland went undefeated the entire event, beating home team Alina Pätz and Sven Michel of Switzerland 9-7 in the final to win the gold medal.

Through regional qualifiers, the field was narrowed down from over forty teams to just eighteen who competed in the national championship. The preliminary round was held in a round robin format which qualified the top three teams in each pool for the playoff round.

The 2023 World Mixed Doubles Qualification Event was held from December 2 to 7 at the Dumfries Ice Bowl in Dumfries, Scotland. The top four placing teams qualified for the 2024 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship in Östersund, Sweden.

Mixed doubles curling at the 2024 Winter Youth Olympics was held from January 26 to February 1 at the Gangneung Curling Centre in Gangneung, South Korea.

The 2024 World Wheelchair Curling Championship is currently being held from March 2 to 9 at the Gangneung Curling Centre in Gangneung, South Korea.

The 2024 World Wheelchair Mixed Doubles Curling Championship was held from March 11 to 16 at the Gangneung Curling Centre in Gangneung, South Korea.
