The girls' doubles tournament of the 2023 Badminton Asia Junior Championships will be held from 12 to 16 July. Li Yijing / Luo Xumin from China clinched this title in the last edition in 2019 before COVID-19 pandemic.

In European football, the UEFA coefficients are statistics based in weighted arithmetic means used for ranking and seeding teams in club and international competitions. Introduced in 1979 for men's football tournaments, and after applied in women's football and futsal, the coefficients are calculated by UEFA, who administer football within Europe, as well as Armenia, Israel and the Asian parts of some transcontinental countries.
Richard Krajicek defeated MaliVai Washington in the final, 6–3, 6–4, 6–3 to win the gentlemen's singles tennis title at the 1996 Wimbledon Championships. Krajicek was originally unseeded, but replaced seventh seed Thomas Muster in the draw when Muster withdrew from the tournament. Washington became the first male major finalist of African descent since Yannick Noah in the 1983 French Open, and the first at Wimbledon since Arthur Ashe in 1975.
Defending champion Pete Sampras defeated Michael Chang in the final, 6–1, 6–4, 7–6(7–3) to win the men's singles tennis title at the 1996 US Open. Sampras saved a match point en route to the title, in the quarterfinals against Àlex Corretja. There, Sampras had a stomach bug and vomited during the fifth set, prompting a warning from the referee for delaying the match. He eventually won the fifth set in a tiebreak, 7–6(9–7).
Four-time defending champion Roger Federer defeated Rafael Nadal in the final, 7–6(9–7), 4–6, 7–6(7–3), 2–6, 6–2 to win the gentlemen's singles tennis title at the 2007 Wimbledon Championships. It was Federer's Open Era record-equaling fifth consecutive Wimbledon title, his fifth Wimbledon title overall, and his eleventh major title overall. It was the second of three consecutive years that Federer and Nadal would contest the Wimbledon final.
Peter Polansky is an inactive Canadian professional tennis player of Czech origin. He was Canada's top singles player from June 21, 2010, until January 17, 2011, in the ATP rankings. He was also Canada's No. 2 from August 4, 2008, until June 21, 2010, with the exception of one week. In 2018, he became the first player in the Open Era to qualify for all four Grand Slam tournaments as a lucky loser within the same calendar year.

The final was held at Wembley Stadium in London on 28 May 2011, where Barcelona defeated Manchester United 3–1. Internazionale were the defending champions, but were eliminated by Schalke 04 in the quarter-finals. As winners, Barcelona earned berths in the 2011 UEFA Super Cup and the 2011 FIFA Club World Cup.

Heather Miriam Watson is a professional tennis player. A former British No. 1, Watson has won nine titles over her career, including the mixed-doubles title at the 2016 Wimbledon Championships, partnering Henri Kontinen, making her the first British woman to win a major title since Jo Durie in 1991, and the first to win a Wimbledon title since Durie in 1987. In October 2012, Watson won her first WTA Tour singles title at the Japan Women's Open, becoming the first British woman to win a WTA tournament singles title since Sara Gomer in 1988.
Daria Saville is an Australian professional tennis player. She represented Russia until 2015. She competed under her maiden name until her marriage to Luke Saville in 2021.
Anett Kontaveit is an Estonian former professional tennis player. She was ranked as high as world No. 2 by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA), which she first achieved on 6 June 2022 and made her the highest-ranked Estonian tennis player in history. She also attained a career-high ranking of No. 95 in doubles on 2 March 2020.
Jessica Pegula is an American professional tennis player. She has career-high WTA rankings in singles of world No. 3, achieved on October 24, 2022 and in doubles of world No. 2 achieved on May 22, 2023. She has won two singles titles and seven doubles titles on the WTA Tour, one WTA Challenger doubles title, and seven ITF doubles titles. Pegula is a six-time Grand Slam quarterfinalist in singles, having reached this stage thrice at the Australian Open (2021–2023), once at the French Open (2022), once at the US Open (2022), and once at Wimbledon (2023). She is also a major finalist in doubles, achieving this feat at the 2022 French Open with teammate Coco Gauff.
Donna Vekić is a Croatian professional tennis player and businesswoman. In November 2019, she achieved a career-high singles ranking of world No. 19. She has won four singles titles on the WTA Tour – at the 2014 Malaysian Open, at the 2017 Nottingham Open, the 2021 Courmayeur Ladies Open, and the 2023 Monterrey Open. She has also won five singles titles and one doubles title on the ITF Circuit. Laslo Djere is a professional tennis player from Serbia of Hungarian ethnicity. On 10 June 2019, Djere reached his career-high singles ranking of world No. 27. His first qualification attempt to play in the main draw at any Grand Slam was at the 2015 French Open, but his first successful attempt and main draw debut happened at the 2016 French Open. At 2018 US Open, he recorded his first Grand Slam win, defeating Leonardo Mayer in first round.

Cori Dionne "Coco" Gauff is an American professional tennis player. She has a career-high ranking of world No. 4 in singles, reached on October 24, 2022, and world No. 1 in doubles, achieved on August 15, 2022. Gauff won her first WTA Tour singles title at the 2019 Linz Open aged 15 years and 7 months, making her the youngest singles title-holder on the Tour since 2004. She has won three WTA Tour singles titles and eight doubles titles – three partnering with Caty McNally and five with Jessica Pegula. Gauff rose to prominence with a win over former World No. 1 and seven-time Grand Slam champion Venus Williams in the opening round of 2019 Wimbledon.
