The 2023 Global Awards ceremony were held on 31 March 2023 live on-air through the Global radio stations Capital FM, Capital XTRA, Heart FM, Radio X and Smooth Radio. [1] [2]

The Brit Award for Song of the Year is an award given by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI), an organisation which represents record companies and artists in the United Kingdom. The Audio and Radio Industry Awards are annual awards awarded for excellence in UK radio and audio presenting and production. Established in 2016 by the Radio Academy, they succeeded the Radio Academy Awards, the academy's honours system of 1983 to 2014. They are awarded for productions in the previous calendar year. In contrast to many other media award ceremonies, three winners are selected by judging panels for each category and graded Gold, Silver or Bronze.

"Someone You Loved" is a song recorded by British singer-songwriter Lewis Capaldi. It was released on 8 November 2018 as a download through Vertigo Records, the third single from his second extended play, Breach (2018), and was later included on his debut album, Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent (2019). The song was written by Capaldi, Samuel Romans, and its producers Thomas Barnes, Peter Kelleher and Benjamin Kohn. It was serviced to radio stations on 16 April 2019 as the first US single.

The 2020 Global Awards ceremony was held on Thursday, 5 March 2020 at London's Eventim Apollo and was sponsored by very.co.uk. Roman Kemp and Myleene Klass returned to host the ceremony and were joined by Kate Garraway who replaced Rochelle Humes

The 2022 Global Awards was not held in a physical location due to the ongoing effects of the COVID-19 pandemic in the United Kingdom. Winners were announced through the company's official website and on social network pages on 14 April 2022.

The 2024 Global Awards ceremony was held on Friday, 22 March 2024 live on-air through the Global radio stations Capital FM, Capital XTRA, Heart FM, Radio X and Smooth Radio.
