The 2023 Maharashtra Premier League was the inaugural edition of the Maharashtra Premier League, a franchise Twenty20 cricket league in Maharashtra, India.The league was organised by the Maharashtra Cricket Association in 2023.The tournament was played between 15 June to 29 June 2023. Background

Over two hundred players from different districts of Maharashtra registered themselves for player auction, including players from Pune, Jalgaon, Kolhapur, Sangli, Solapur etc. International players from the state such as Ruturaj Gaikwad, Kedar Jadhav, Rahul Tripathi and district cricketers will participate. The league is sanctioned by BCCI. As per Maharashtra cricket association's president Rohit Pawar the aim of MPL is to give opportunities to Maharashtra's budding cricketers. [5]

This season is airing on DD Sports, although DD broadcasting only second of each game as of 20 June 2023 instead airing full game. Fancode also airing the season on its mobile app.

It was the third edition of the Stanbic Bank 20 Series, the premier Twenty20 cricket competition in Zimbabwe. It was won by Mountaineers who defeated Mashonaland Eagles by 27 runs in a thrilling final, in which they defended 142 and dismissed the Eagles for 115 mostly due to the leading wicket-taker of the tournament, Shingirai Masakadza. Mountaineers were particularly strong throughout the tournament, and played some high standard of cricket, that saw them first finish top of the group with 3 wins of 4 matches, then overhaul the heavily favored Matabeleland Tuskers in the 1st Semi at Harare. It was the same time that Mashonaland Eagles the eventual losing finalists, defeated the favored Mid West Rhinos by 53 runs coming from the brink of elimination to earn the playoff final berth against Matabeleland Tuskers. Southern Rocks had a forgettable tournament, finishing in last place in the group stage. In the playoff final, Eagles scored 207/7 mostly due to Essex and Netherlands all-rounder Ryan ten Doeschate's fiery 121* off 58 balls, and Tuskers were defeated by 23 runs despite a blowing half-century from the tournament's highest run-scorer Chris Gayle and another blazing one by Steven Trenchard.

He made his international debut for the India cricket team in July 2021 against Sri Lanka. He was the captain of the India squad which won the gold medal at the 2022 Asian Games. He was the leading run-scorer in the 2021 IPL season and also won emerging player of the season. He is captain of the Maharashtra team in T20 and List A cricket. He is the only Indian player to score a century against the Australian international team in T20Is.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) is franchise cricket team based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, which plays in the Indian Premier League (IPL). They were one of the eight teams to compete in the 2020 Indian Premier League. The Super Kings have lifted the IPL title thrice, and have the best win percentage among all teams in the IPL (61.28). They hold the records of most appearances in the playoffs (ten) and the Final (eight) of the IPL. The 2020 Lanka Premier League also known as My11Circle LPL T20, for sponsorship reasons, was the inaugural edition of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) Twenty20 franchise cricket tournament in Sri Lanka. The 2022–23 Vijay Hazare Trophy was the 30th edition of the Vijay Hazare Trophy, an annual List A cricket tournament in India. It was played from 12 November to 2 December 2022. Himachal Pradesh were the defending champions. Saurashtra won the final match against Maharashtra by 5 wickets to clinch their second domestic title.
