2023 New Zealand Motocross Championship

The 2023 New Zealand Motocross Championship season was the 49th New Zealand Motocross Championship season.^[1]

Hamish Harwood was the reigning champion in the MX1 category, after taking his fifth national title in 2021.^[3] However, he would eventually finish as runner-up to Maximus Purvis, who took his first MX1 national title.^[4] In the MX2 class, Cody Cooper won his tenth senior national title overall, after dropping back into the class for 2023.^[5]

The third round of the championship was originally scheduled to take place at the Hawke's Bay track. Following Cyclone Gabrielle, the round had to be cancelled with the final round at Taupō being converted into a double-header in its place.^[6]

Harri Kullas is a Finnish-born Estonian professional motocross racer. Kullas has had a long international career that has seen him compete in the FIM Motocross World Championship in both the MX2 and MXGP classes.

The 2023 ProMX Motocross Championship season, was the third Australian Motocross Championship season under the ProMX moniker.

The 2023 ACU British Motocross Championship season was the 71st British Motocross Championship season.

Valentin Guillod is a Swiss professional Motocross racer. Guillod has competed in the Motocross World Championship since 2010 and is a three-time grand prix winner in the MX2 class.

Alberto Forato is an Italian professional Motocross racer. He has been competing in the FIM Motocross World Championship since 2019.

Mitchell Evans is an Australian professional Motocross racer. Evans has competed in the FIM Motocross World Championship since the 2019 season, initially in the MX2 class but more recently in MXGP.

Stephen Rubini is a French professional Motocross racer. Rubini has competed in the FIM Motocross World Championship since the 2017 season.

Jed Beaton is an Australian professional Motocross racer.

The 2024 New Zealand Motocross Championship season was the 50th New Zealand Motocross Championship season.

The 2024 French Elite Motocross Championship season is the 76th French Motocross Championship season.

José Antonio Butrón Oliva is a Spanish professional Motocross racer. Butrón competed in the Motocross World Championship from 2008 to 2021, finishing third in the final standings of the MX2 class in the 2013 FIM Motocross World Championship.

The 2024 ProMX Motocross Championship season, is the fourth Australian Motocross Championship season under the ProMX moniker.
