The 2023 UCI Para-cycling Track World Championships were held from 2 to 8 August 2023, at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome in Glasgow, United Kingdom. It was held as part of the inaugural UCI Cycling World Championships. [1] [2] The event was held as part of an integrated programme with the 2023 UCI Track Cycling World Championships, which began, and will end, a day later.

The event was dominated by the hosts, Great Britain who won 18 gold medals, and 30 medals in total. Their success was founded on dominance of both the men's sprint time trial events and the tandem events for blind cyclists. Despite this, 12 nations tasted gold medal success and 21 nations reached the podium.

Manchester Velodrome is an indoor Olympic-standard cycle-racing track in Manchester, England, which opened in 1994. Part of the National Cycling Centre, the facility has been home to British Cycling since 1994, coinciding with the nation's rise to track cycling dominance at World and Olympic level. The velodrome was also home to UCI ProTeam Ineos Grenadiers, formerly known as Team Sky between 2010 and 2019, a period when the team won 6 Tour de France, 2 Vuelta a Espana and 1 Giro d'Italia with Great Britain riders.

Sir Jason Francis Kenny, is a British former track cyclist, specialising in the individual and team sprints. Kenny is the holder of most Olympic gold medals (7) and medals (9) for a British athlete. Kenny's seven Olympic gold medals place him joint 15th by reference to gold medals won in the Summer Olympic games since 1896. He is the single holder of the records for both most Olympic golds and Olympic medals for a cyclist.
Rebecca Angharad James is a Welsh former professional racing cyclist specialising in track cycling. James was the 2013 world sprint and keirin champion. She is a 2016 Rio Olympics double silver medalist.
The 2011 UCI Track Cycling World Championships was the World Championships for track cycling in 2011. The championships took place at the Omnisport Apeldoorn in Apeldoorn, Netherlands from 23 to 27 March 2011. In January 2012 it was announced that Grégory Baugé's results in the Sprint and Team Sprint competitions would be nullified.

The 2018 European Championships were the first edition of the European Championships. It was a multi-sport event which took place in Berlin, Germany, and Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom from 2 to 12 August 2018. Around 1,500 athletes competed at the European Athletics Championships in Berlin, whilst at the same time more than 3,000 took part in the other championships in Glasgow. Ordinarily held as part of the UCI Urban Cycling World Championships, in this year the world championships in the disciplines of Park and Flatland both form part of the larger 2023 UCI World Cycling Championships. A 2023 UCI Trials World Championships, generally held with the BMX championships as the UCI Urban Cycling World Championships were held separately.
