Iga Świątek defeated Jessica Pegula in the final, 6–1, 6–0 to win the singles tennis title at the 2023 WTA Finals. Świątek did not lose a match throughout the entire tournament, the first player to do so since Elina Svitolina in 2018. [1] Furthermore, she also did not drop a set throughout the entire tournament, the first to do so since Serena Williams in 2012. Świątek dropped just 20 games throughout the entire tournament, the fewest since the reintroduction of the round-robin format in 2003. [2] By winning the title, Świątek regained the WTA No. 1 ranking from Aryna Sabalenka.

Caroline Garcia was the reigning champion, [3] but did not qualify this year. No previous champions qualified for this year's tournament, guaranteeing a first-time WTA Finals champion.

Elena Rybakina and Markéta Vondroušová made their singles debuts at the event; they were eliminated in the group stage. Karolína Muchová also would have made her debut, but withdrew due to an ongoing wrist injury; she was replaced by Maria Sakkari.

Pegula was the first player to face the world No. 1, No. 2, No. 3, and No. 4 at a single event since the WTA rankings began in 1975. [4]

The 2022 WTA Finals was the professional women's year-end championship tennis tournament run by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) from October 31 to November 7, 2022. It was the 51st edition of the singles event and the 46th edition of the doubles competition. The tournament was held on an indoor hardcourt at the Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, marking the return of the tournament to the United States after 17 years, and was contested by the eight highest-ranked singles players and doubles teams of the 2022 WTA Tour.

Caroline Garcia defeated Aryna Sabalenka in the final, 7–6(7–4), 6–4 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2022 WTA Finals. Garcia became the first Frenchwoman to win the season-ending championships since Amélie Mauresmo in 2005.

Elena Rybakina defeated Aryna Sabalenka in the final, 7–6(13–11), 6–4 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2023 Indian Wells Open. It was her first WTA 1000 title, and the final was a rematch of the Australian Open final, won by Sabalenka. Rybakina became the first Kazakhstani player to win a WTA 1000 singles title.

Petra Kvitová defeated Elena Rybakina in the final, 7–6(16–14), 6–2 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2023 Miami Open. It was Kvitová's first WTA 1000 title since the 2018 Madrid Open, and her 30th career title overall; she also became the first Czech player to win the title. Rybakina was attempting to complete the Sunshine Double, having already won the title at Indian Wells.

Aryna Sabalenka defeated Iga Świątek in the final, 6–3, 3–6, 6–3 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2023 Madrid Open. It was her fifth WTA 1000 title. This marked the first time since 2013 that the top two seeds contested the Madrid Open final. It was also the first time since 2000 that the top two players on the WTA Tour contested back-to-back finals, after Świątek won in Stuttgart the week prior.

Markéta Vondroušová defeated Ons Jabeur in the final, 6–4, 6–4 to win the ladies' singles tennis title at the 2023 Wimbledon Championships. It was her first major singles title and her first title overall in six years. Vondroušová became the first unseeded female player to win the Wimbledon title, the first to contest the final since Billie Jean King did so in 1963, and at world No. 42 was the lowest-ranked champion and second-lowest-ranked finalist since the WTA rankings were established in 1975. By winning the title, Vondroušová made her debut in the top ten of the WTA rankings.

Jessica Pegula defeated Liudmila Samsonova in the final, 6–1, 6–0 to win the women's singles title at the 2023 Canadian Open. It was her second WTA 1000 title. Due to rain, Samsonova had to play two matches on Friday and two matches again on Sunday; she only had a two-hour break between the semifinal and final match. Pegula, on the other hand, played one match each day of the tournament from Wednesday through Sunday.

Iga Świątek defeated Liudmila Samsonova in the final, 6–2, 6–2 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2023 China Open. It was her sixth career WTA 1000 title.

Iga Świątek defeated Maria Sakkari in the final, 6–4, 6–0 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2024 Indian Wells Open. It was her eighth WTA 1000 and 19th career WTA Tour title, and she did not lose a set en route. Świątek became the first woman to win multiple titles at Indian Wells since Victoria Azarenka in 2016, and just the tenth woman to do so overall. She was the first player since Maria Sharapova in 2013 to win the title without dropping a set, and lost just 21 games throughout the entire tournament; this was the fewest since Steffi Graf lost 16 games in 1994. The final was a rematch of the 2022 final, which Świątek also won.

Elena Rybakina defeated Marta Kostyuk in the final, 6–2, 6–2 to win the singles tennis title at the 2024 Stuttgart Open. It was her eighth career WTA Tour title.

Sabalenka dropped only one set en route to the title, against Ekaterina Alexandrova in the third round.

Coco Gauff defeated Zheng Qinwen in the final, 3–6, 6–4, 7–6(7–2) to win the singles tennis title at the 2024 WTA Finals. It was her ninth career WTA Tour singles title.

Aryna Sabalenka is the two-time defending champion. She is aiming to become the first woman to win three consecutive Australian Open singles titles since Martina Hingis in 1999.
