2023 World Women's Handball Championship – European qualification

The European qualification for the 2023 World Women's Handball Championship, in Denmark, Norway and Sweden, was played over two rounds.

In the first round of qualification, 18 teams who were not participating at the 2022 European Championship played a knockout round with the winners advancing to the second phase, where the teams were joined by the remaining ten teams from the European Championship and play play-off games to determine the qualified teams.

Seeding

The draw was held on 29 June 2022 in Vienna, Austria. [1] [2] The winner of each tie advanced to the play-off round.

The draw took place on 19 November 2022. Serbia and Kosovo were not allowed to be drawn against each other. [3] [4] The nine winners of phase 1, the Czech Republic and ten teams from the 2022 European Women's Handball Championship played in this round. The games were played on 7 and 8 April and 11 and 12 April 2023.

The 2021–22 Women's EHF Champions League knockout stage began on 26 March with the playoffs and ended on 5 June 2022 with the final at the MVM Dome in Budapest, Hungary, to decide the winners of the 2021–22 Women's EHF Champions League. A total of twelve teams competed in the knockout phase.

This article describes the qualification process for the 2026 European Men's Handball Championship and EHF Euro Cup.

The European qualification for the 2025 World Men's Handball Championship will be contested in two rounds between November 2023 and May 2024. They will join six already qualified teams: Croatia and Norway, as co-hosts, Denmark as co-host and title holder, France as defending runner-ups, and two best ranked teams at 2024 European Men's Handball Championship excluding Croatia, Norway and Denmark.
