The series was the first as head coach of Zimbabwe Women for former international cricketer Gary Brent.

The 2022 GCC Women's Gulf Cup was a women's T20I cricket (WT20I) tournament played in Oman from 20 to 26 March 2022. Organised by the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), the tournament featured the women's national teams of Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates. The 2023 Victoria Series was a women's Twenty20 International (T20I) cricket tournament that took place in Uganda in April 2023, the second edition of the Victoria Series. Zimbabwe had won the first edition in 2019, but they did not defend the title in this edition due to other commitments. The venue for all of the matches was the Lugogo Stadium in Kampala. The five-team tournament was contested by hosts Uganda, as well as Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and United Arab Emirates. The 2023 ICC Women's T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier was a cricket tournament that formed part of the qualification process for the 2024 ICC Women's T20 World Cup. The Asia Qualifier was hosted by Malaysia in August and September 2023. The two teams to reach the final of the qualifier tournament progressed to the global qualifier.

The 2023 ICC Women's T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier was a cricket tournament that formed part of the qualification process for the 2024 ICC Women's T20 World Cup. The first stage of the tournament was Division Two, which featured eight teams and was held in Botswana in September 2023.

The 2024 ACC Women's Premier Cup was the inaugural edition of the ACC Women's Premier Cup, hosted by Malaysia in February 2024. The tournament was a part of the qualification pathway for 2024 Women's Twenty20 Asia Cup. The Asian Cricket Council announced the complete fixtures for the tournament on 16 January 2024.
