The 2024 Nationale 1 (N1) season was the 57th season of the Nationale 1 (NM1), the top-tier basketball league for men's teams in Senegal.

Contents

AS Douanes were the defending champions, but were eliminated in the semi-finals. [1] ASCVD won their first national championship, after defeating DUC in the final. [2] [3] As champions, they qualified directly for the 2025 BAL season. [2]

Teams

Guédiawaye Academy and USPA were promoted. UCAD and ASFA were relegated to the Division 2 following their results in the 2022 season. [4]

In January, it was announced that UCAD and Larry Diouf had merged and would keep playing in the NM1 under the name Larry Diouf. [5]

Final Four

The final four playoffs were played in best-of-three series, and the first games were played on 7 June 2024. ACVD advanced to the finals for the first time in club history, [10] and went on to win its first national championship on 27 June 2024. [2]

Thierno Ibrahima Niang is a Senegalese basketball player who plays for Jeanne d'Arc of the NM1. The men's game consists out of one game which is played in the beginning of the season, between the champions of the Nationale Macsulin 1 (NM1) and the winners of the Saint Michel Cup. It is equivalent to super cup games in other countries.

The Saint Michel Cup is an annual Senegalese basketball cup competition that is organized by the Ligue de Dakar de Basket (LBBD). Jeanne d'Arc holds the record for most won titles with 13. The competition is sponsored by the UCAO Saint Michel, a private university located in Dakar.

The 2021 Nationale 1 season was the season of the Nationale 1, the premier basketball league in Senegal. The champions directly qualify for the 2022 Basketball Africa League season.

The 2020–21 season of AS Douanes was the 1st season for the club in the Basketball Africa League. The team began the season on 17 May 2021, in its season opener against Algeria's GS Pétroliers.

The 2023 BAL season, also known as BAL Season 3, was the third season of the Basketball Africa League (BAL). The season began on 11 March 2023 and ended on 27 May 2023. The playoffs were played in the BK Arena in Kigali, which hosted the final stage for a third season in a row. The regular season was played in Dakar, Senegal and Cairo, Egypt, both venues hosted a conference for a second year in a row.

Jean Jacques Boissy is a Senegalese basketball player who last played for Urunani BBC of the Burundian Basketball Championship and the Senegal national team. Playing at point guard, he is a graduate of the NBA Academy Africa and has played professionally since 2021. Boissy was an All-BAL First Team selection in 2023.

Samba Daly "Pape" Fall is a Senegalese professional basketball player who currently plays for AS Douanes of the N1 and the Basketball Africa League (BAL). A 1.98 m tall shooting guard or small forward, he has played for the Senegal national team. Fall is a two-time Nationale 1 Finals MVP and a one-time season MVP winner (2023).

The AS Douanes men's basketball team played the 2023 season in the Nationale 1 (NM1) and the Basketball Africa League (BAL). Having won the previous national championship, the Douanes returned to the BAL after one-year of absence. They signed Terrell Stoglin and Chris Crawford for the season as American import players. On 27 September 2023, AS Douanes won its record-setting 11th national championship, thus overtaking ASFA as the Senegalese club with the most NM1 titles.

The 2023 Nationale 1 season was the 56th season of the Nationale 1 (NM1), the top-tier basketball league in Senegal. The season began on 21 January and ended on 17 September 2023.

The AS Douanes men's basketball team played the 2024 season in the Nationale 1 (NM1) and the Basketball Africa League (BAL).
