The 2024 Pac-12 Conference football season will be the 46th season of Pac-12 football, and will take place during the 2024 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The season will begin on August 31, 2024. [1] Every member school outside of Oregon State and Washington State moved to a different conference. Former members UCLA, USC, Oregon, and Washington moved to the Big Ten. Arizona, Arizona State, Utah, and Colorado moved to the Big 12. Stanford and Cal moved to the ACC. [2]

Previous Season

The Washington Huskies defeated the Oregon Ducks 34-31 in the 2023 Pac-12 Football Championship Game. Washington defeated Texas 37-31 in the 2024 Sugar Bowl before losing to undefeated Michigan 34-13 in the 2024 College Football Playoff National Championship.

Coaching

On November 28, 2023, Oregon State named Trent Bray as head coach replacing Jonathan Smith who accepted the same position at Michigan State. [8]

The season was originally scheduled to begin on September 26, 2020, and end with the 2020 Pac-12 Championship Game on December 18–19, 2020, at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. On July 10, 2020, the Pac-12 announced that all competition in fall sports, including football, will be played exclusively in-conference due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On August 11, 2020, the Pac-12 Conference suspended all fall sports competitions due to the ongoing pandemic. On September 24, 2020 the Pac-12 Conference announced that the postponement of fall sports was to be ended and teams will return to play with a six-game Conference-only season to begin on November 6, and the Pac-12 Championship Game on December 18 with the rest of the conference seeded for a seventh game.

The 2023 Washington Huskies football team represented the University of Washington as a member of the Pac–12 Conference during the 2023 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Huskies were led by Kalen DeBoer in his second and final season as Washington's head coach, before leaving for Alabama at the end of the season. They played their home games at Husky Stadium in Seattle. 2023 was Washington's final season in the Pac-12 Conference before moving to the Big Ten Conference in 2024.

This will be the first season of the new College Football Playoff (CFP) system, with the bracket being expanded to 12 teams.
