On 14 December 2012 between 7 and 8 a.m. local time, a 36-year-old villager identified as Min Yongjun stabbed 24 people, including 23 children and an elderly woman, in a knife attack at Chenpeng Village Primary School, Wenshu Township, Guangshan County, Henan province, China. The attack occurred as the children were arriving for classes around 8:00 to 9:00.
A vehicle-ramming attack, also known as a vehicle as a weapon or VAW attack, is an assault in which a perpetrator deliberately rams a vehicle into a building, people, or another vehicle. According to Stratfor Global Intelligence analysts, this attack represents a relatively new militant tactic that could prove more difficult to prevent than suicide bombings.

The Kawasaki stabbings occurred on the morning of 28 May 2019 in the Tama ward of Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan, four blocks west of Noborito Station. Two people were murdered, and 18 others were injured after being stabbed at a city bus stop by 51-year-old Ryuichi Iwasaki. After carrying out the attack, Iwasaki committed suicide by stabbing himself in the neck.
On June 28, 2018, in the Xuhui District of Shanghai, China, three boys and a female parent were stabbed with a knife near the gate of the West Campus of the Shanghai World Foreign Language Primary School at Pubei Road, Shanghai. Two boys who attended died, and another student and parent were injured. The suspect, Huang Yichuan, was arrested by the Procuratorate the next day.
On 20 June 2020, shortly before 19:00 BST, a man with a knife attacked people who were socialising in Forbury Gardens, Reading, Berkshire, United Kingdom. Three men died from their wounds, and three other people were seriously injured. Khairi Saadallah, a 25-year-old Libyan male refugee, was arrested shortly afterwards. He was charged with three counts of murder and three counts of attempted murder; he pleaded guilty. In January 2021, Saadallah was sentenced to a whole-life term.
A mass stabbing incident occurred 6 August 2021, on a commuter train in the Odakyu Electric Railway in Tokyo, Japan. Ten people were injured in the incident.
On 10 February 2024, the first day of the Chinese New Year, a man reportedly attacked multiple people in Zhaike Village, a settlement in Rizhao's Ju County in Shandong, China, with a knife and some type of firearm. Also known as the Ju County massacre or Zhaike Village massacre, the incident left at least 21 people dead, including one doctor and two police officers, and many more injured. Details of the bloodshed remain unclear and unconfirmed due to strict government censorship. Some reports indicated that additional attackers were involved.
On 24 June 2024, a Chinese man attacked a Japanese mother and her three-year-old son with a knife at the Xindi Center bus station near the Japanese School of Suzhou in Suzhou, Jiangsu, China. The assailant attempted to board a Japanese school bus during the attack, fatally stabbing the bus attendant, a Chinese woman named Hu Youping —who had intervened to protect the passengers. The mother and child sustained minor injuries. The perpetrator, named Zhou Jiasheng, (周加胜) was arrested.
On 28 October 2024, a man with a knife stabbed multiple people near a primary school in the Haidian district of Beijing, China. The alleged attacker, a 50-year-old man named Rami Tang, was arrested and is currently under investigation by the Chinese authorities.
On 16 November 2024, a former student stabbed twenty-five people, killing eight, at the Wuxi Vocational Institute of Arts and Technology in Yixing, Wuxi, Jiangsu, China. He was executed two months later.
