The 2024 U17 World Wrestling Championships (29th) took place from 19 to 25 August 2024 in Amman, Jordan. [1] [2] The United States topped the men's freestyle category, Iran topped the Greco-Roman category, while India topped the women's freestyle. [3]

Wrestling was contested by men and women at the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou, China. Only men competed in Greco-Roman wrestling while both men and women contested for medals in freestyle wrestling. All competition were held from November 21 to 26 at Huagong Gymnasium.

Wrestling at the 2021 Islamic Solidarity Games were held in Konya, Turkey from 10 to 13 August 2022. Each National Olympic Committee (NOC) has the right to participate with a maximum of one wrestler per weight category in all styles. The maximum number of athletes per delegation is 30.All competitors must be of senior age category. The competitions take place by direct elimination system with an ideal number of wrestlers, i.e. 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, etc. If there is no ideal number of wrestlers in a category, qualification matches will take place. Matching is done in the order of numbers determined by the draw made by UWW. 4 Each weight category begins and ends in a day. The competition takes place in the following format: Elimination rounds, Semi-finals, Repechage rounds, Finals.

The men wrestled against each other in both freestyle and Greco-Roman events, whereas the women only participated in the freestyle wrestling, with 18 gold medals awarded. Wrestling has been contested at every modern Summer Olympic Games, except Paris 1900.

The 2023 World Junior Wrestling Championships (U20) was the 45th edition of the World Junior Wrestling Championships and was held in Amman, Jordan between 14 and 20 August 2023. The event was originally scheduled to be held in Warsaw, Poland from August 14-20. Due to Poland's refusal to issue visas to Russian and Belarusian wrestlers, United World Wrestling moved the tournament from Poland to Jordan.
