Background

A K-1 Featherweight title bout between champion Takumi Terada and challenger Takahito Niimi, [1] a K-1 Super Bantamweight title bout between champion Akihiro Kaneko and challenger Manolis Kallistis, [2] as well as a K-1 Women's Atomweight Grand Prix were all scheduled to take place during the event. [3]
