The 2029 Bali gubernatorial election will be held in late 2029, as part of 2029 Indonesian local elections across Indonesia, to elect the governor and vice governor of Bali for a five-year term (2030-2035).
The incumbent governor of Bali, I Wayan Koster, is ineligible for seeking the third term.
The election, like other Indonesian local elections in 2029, followed the first-past-the-post system where the candidate with the most votes wins the election, even if they do not win a majority. [1] It was possible for a candidate to run uncontested, in which case the candidate was still required to win a majority of votes "against" a "disagree" option. Should the candidate fail to do so, the election would be repeated at a later date. [2]
